sounds like you burnt up the amp chip only way to fix is to replace thw whole circuit board

You have a defective LCD panel tab, you can repair it but it will require you take the entire TV apart.

you lcd tv maybe only to do ajustable the background light more brighter. if no . that will be inverter board need to replace. good luck!

when it flickers is it lines that go up and down or across the screen or is it flickering bewteen lighter and darker?

You have a bad Panel, but here is the good news. Sony will cover this until Oct 31, 2012. What you will need to do is check your TV into service. You might have to pay a deposit, but you will get it back. The servicer will then contact Sony and then Sont will contact you to make arrangements on getting you a new TV, because they are no longer replacing this panel. Congrats, you are getting a new TV.

1080 i is what you run going to higher resulution causes that your provider is 1080i or 1080p
