I turn it on and their becomes 2 black lines forming on each side of my tv my grandpa thinks it needs to be adjusted but i dont know how to adjust it
The width of the picture is less than normal. It can be adjusted by entering in to its service menu options. But, entering service menu options and adjusting data values there is a skilled task. It will be best to contact any expereinced service techinician ot do this. Or Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Check this link and select the site. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu at the left top corner or the display window. It will make search easy. If you are confident that you can do this, just proceed. If not, do not tamper the TV.

your monitor has a problem with vertical sync. its time to bring your unit to a qualified service technician.

On the remote, if you use the right and left keys on the pad with the OK sign in the middle, it will adjust the screen to several sizes including Cinema, 16:9, 4:3, Zoom, etc. I, personally, use 16:9 because I, like you, need to see the ticker symbols at the bottom. I hope this helps.
