Inability to turn on plasma screen

I have the same problem as someone else posted in Jan 07. I turn on the Panasonic plasma screen, and the light turns green as if it is about to turn on, but after a few seconds it shuts back off and a red light flashes instead of the green that is supposed to show when the system turns on. Can anyone suggest a solution, or at least let me know what the probelm could be? Thanks.

You have a power supply fault or one of the drive boards that drive the plasma screen is loading down the power supply. This power supply may be part of the entire main board. Good Luck

Power on
Depends on how many times it flashes RED.
On the units with fans (usually the HD models) a 6 blink flash code indicates improper fan rotation and the unit will shut down.

These blinks are counted as they go DARK, not as they light up.

Remove the rear panel but do not clean out the dust from the fans until you see which has the improper rotation.

Cleaning may help once you find the baddie, if not they will need to be replaced.

Pin 93 of the MPU IC9003 monitors the status of the SC, SU, SD board. During normal operation, the photo-coupler PC6480 outputs a low to pin 93. If the SC, SU, or SD board becomes defective, a high is provided to pin 93. As a result, the unit shuts down and the power LED blinks 7 times.

Blinking red light
Same problem with TH-42PZ700U. Took the plug out of the powerstrip and stuck it in the wall outlet and no fix. I will call Panasonic tomorrow. Thinking it might be a heat issue, cause it has been working again after it cools down for 20 mins. Only had this unit since 10/4/07.
