Intermittent discoloration & pixalation mainly in low light

I have an intermittent problem with my Coolpix S5, sometimes the picture becomes completely discolored; whole picture is greenish & sometime discolored & pixelated. When taking a shot, especially in low light condition it sems like the processor is trying to balance or componsates for the lighting level but then the picture would have the fault as described. I tried adjusting the whaite balance, aperture compensation, different shooting modes to no effect. 1st I thought this was a CCD problem but it's intermittent, so it can't be. Some of my friends think it may be the processor problem or the VRAM?. Has anyone experienced this problem or can help with a fix other than returning to Nikon for a very expensive repair. Thanks

I have seen a similar problem with other manufacturer's cameras. A connectore between the CCD and main board comes loose and gives weird picture effects. With other cameras the lens fails and gives a multi coloured solarization. Hopefully, your camera is still under warranty because I would suggest you take it to Nikon for service.

It could just be the fact that your TV has quit working and that you will just have to buy another TV.

I have a samsung Un55J6200afxza. sometimes when i power on the tv there is no backlight.

It could be a defective main board, or intermittent LED diode on the back lights strips.

I will try a new main board first.

The LCD has become intermittent, caused by bad screen or the ribbon cable needs to be reseated back on the systems board, because it has come loose.

My nikon coolpix s5 turns on and dispay remains dark- but all settings show up on display screen- cant take picture but i can view old pictures. i have taken out battery and restarted camera but still have...

The camera's ccd, the image sensor , is either faulty or has become disconnected. This is a fault that can't be fixed by fiddling with the settings. If the camera is under warranty, then return it for repair. If it is not, it may cost more to repair it than to replace it with a new and better camera. They get cheaper and more capable every year- don't spend too much restoring an old model.
