HD52w59 audio and convergence not working

if you need to know where the convergence settings are you click menu then setup and then convergence. I have the same tv as you and the picture looks like its 3d with red and green and the words on menu are doubled and I tried auto converge and it didnt work. If you figure it out let me know. it also might be a fuse.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. *Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped or bowed
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

When you presss menu and then select settings is the auto convergence and convergence options still there or have they disappeared/ Let me know and I will assist you with the problem.

When you say replaced the convergence twice, are you refering to the convergence boards or the FL231 fuse? If its the FL231 fuse unless you replaced the DL231 and CL230 plus reflowed the solder on the flyback it will continue to keep blowing untill the 3 parts are replaced together and the flyback gets resoldered. If you replaced the convergence boards then try resoldering the flyback.

Sound like convergence supply problem (small fuse near flyback will be open.

Point-by-point convergence can be set by a good technician, but the controls are not accessible to the customer. also check the fuse in the power deflection board.

is this the same convergence problem in your previous post.. no convergence on a hd52w59? no convergence option in setup?...fl231 a small fuse next to flyback being blown causes this. The reason this blowns is poor solder connections on the flyback

The service # is hd52w59 and then something like yx1 or etc..... On the model # tag, this is written in very small writing. There is no way to remove the convergence option. Go to menu the set up and there you should find convergence. Choose convergence and run auto converge. If this does not work then there is a failure on the convergence power supply, convergence amp, or the deflection/power bd.

Did you chane your ICs recently? If so did you replace the resistor near the ics? These resistors often fail and if you replace the convergence ICs without replacing them they will take out the new ICs quickly.

New conversion ic's sorry. Nothing else will work.
