I have a Sony Bravia KDL-42V4100 that will not power on. No clicks, no red or green light on the front, nothing. Opened it up and am getting voltage to my primary side of the power supply, but no voltage to the secondary side. Not sure if its a main board problem, or Power supply problem. Please help

Hi,
Sounds like there is a short on the power board or the power board has gone faulty.
Look on the power board to see if any of the capacitors are bulged or if there are any other components burnt out.
The TV is going into protect mode because of an over current, which points to a short on the board or a component has gone short circuit.
Thanks

Most likely this is caused by a defective main board. Changing the main board will fix the issue about 95% of the time.
To be absolutely sure, the voltages need to be checked on the power supply. If they are not the values listed in the service manual, then you should replace the power supply instead (accounts for the other 5% of the time).

There may be no horizontal ouput, Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
Hope that helps
