Hi, my JVC mini DV Video Camera has fussy lines through any recordings and says the head needs cleaning. I've tried using the miniDV head cleaner tapes - but to no avail. Have you any suggestions? Thanks! Mark

It could be video head dust or the tape guide were out of alignment or it had been magnetized
In any case you should bring to JVC service center or JVC itself to repair this problem. They must connect your CAM into computer to check up and realignment DO NOT use the tape cleaning it won't help you sometime it cause more trouble such broken video head
Cheers

HORIZONTAL lines appearing on the display screen

If the line appear when ever you are playing back the job you have recorded with the camera,it might be as a result of dirty on the play head of the camera. So you will need a head cleaner tape. But if the problem continues after cleaning the play head of the camera needs to be changed

The picture just stopped working, as did the

I had a problem like this with another mini-DV camera (Canon GL1) and I took care of the problem. My first thought is to use a head cleaner tape (dry head). It sounds like you have a dirty video head. DON'T try to use anything else, don't stick anything into the head or tape area. No liquids like alcohol with a q-tip, din't stick you finger in there (oils) and NO METAL. You don't want to scratch the head, even a q-tip, Kleenex, plastic, wood, cotton, t-shirt will scratch the head (and lenses). If this doesn't work, you may need to have it cleaned in a shop. Good Luck!

Dirty video head! Playback newly opened blank tape for five minutes, after that eject, reinsert, playback then eject again five times, these will serve as your video head cleaner, never use "video head cleaning cassette tape" for it will only damage your camera. Most camera has built in video head cleaner installed inside and activates only when you insert, initial play/rec, and ejects a tape. If the problem is still there you need pro fix then.[:0)

Camcorder Canon ZR 200

First if you have a very bad tape (miniDV) (hard to turn by your hand) the camera will automatically eject coz it cant load the tape to it. it is not a head problem. It seems that you have a mechanical loading issue here. But try to put new miniDV tape. ANd post here what happen. PS Dont use compress gas to clean it you might put new problem. Please use only the head cleaner tape (MiniDV) if you want to clean the head. Hope this may help you

Use a head cleaner tape (available on eBay most likely) and clean the recording heads.

JVC GR-D250 does not record properly

When playing the tape in the camera itself, do you hear sound? If so, its something with the connection cable... is not, you will need a professional repair, you can do nothing except the head clean which you did? Sorry.
