It needs net connection, if u alredy have net connected, save your settings, go 2 internet options save your using sevice eg: Aircel pocket internet, vodafone mobile connect, airtel GPRS search your available server and save the settings, or call your customer care and tell them 2 send the gprs settings, after saving the settings, switch off your mobile and after a minute, then use it. after this if it is not solved there will be a problem in your software, re-install and use.

Nokia s40 "chat server not connected"

If you have Airtel or Tata Docomo as your mobile provider, we have confirmed reports of successfully using WhatsApp with a specific wireless access point configuration:

  1. Go to Settings > Configuration > [Preferred Access Point] > Select Mobile Office.
  2. Go to Settings > Configuration > [Default config. settings] > Delete the config. settings.
  3. Reboot your phone.

If you have Vodafone as your mobile provider, these steps may help:

  1. Go to Settings > Configuration > [Preferred Access Point] > Select Vodafone Mobile Connect.
  2. Go to Settings > Configuration > [Default config. settings] > Delete the config. settings.
  3. Reboot your phone.

If you have Idea as your mobile provider, you may be able to successfully use WhatsApp by following these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Configuration > [Default Config Settings] > Select Idea Internet
  2. Go back to Configuration and then to [Preferred access point] > Select Idea Internet
  3. Restart your phone

I have downloaded whats app on my cell C3 but while verifying my phone no it says - could not connect to server; http error #50

Here is what you have to do.First, backup your phone.

1) Have a wifi connection ready i.e.the setting and password, username etc are set in your nokia C3. Make sure it is working before you do the next step. Remember that when I say wifi, it is not the connection provided by your default telco (for example, in Saudi Arabia, if you use STC, the wifi connection is not the STC, it can be the wifi from other source like KFC free wifi, starbuck or even your home wifi)

2) In Settings >> Configuration, delete all the Default config. settings. Make sure it is empty.

3) Now connect to the wifi. It should allow you to verify your number and start using the whatsapp like normal.

4) Restore backup, make sure only the configuration is installed. Not others. After that, you are free to choose either to stay connected to wifi in order to use the whatsapp or change back to the telco of your telephone. Good thing is that the whatsapp chat does not use the same protocol as the "verify your number" process of the whatsapp application. That means, you can use whatsapp like normal when you are away from the wifi we set in step (1).

The "Could not connect http error #50" problem occurs when you are not subscribed to the data plan of your telco. The default setting of WAP/3G cannot support the whatsapp verification process. It needs other data connection setting which is included only in the data plan package offered by the telco.
The problem will occur again when you want to refresh your favorite list, and at the same time the default config setting from your telco are listed as "default" in Defaulf config. settings. If you cannot refresh your list, you need to repeart step (1) again. Be sure to backup your phone regularly. Make it as a habit.
Good luck
-Bean.
