Spysweeper and internet explorer

Webroot is an Internet security company based out of Colorado.
The company, founded in 1997, offers Internet security programs for businesses and home users.
The Webroot Internet Security Essentials and Webroot Internet Security Complete programs include a firewall that's designed to monitor incoming data and filter out potentially unsafe data.
Consequently, Webroot does not recommend that you disable the firewall.
Nevertheless, if you want to use a different firewall or if the firewall is blocking legitimate data, disable it with a few clicks.

Launch the Webroot program.
Click "Edit Settings" under "PC Security" in the "Home" panel.
The PC Security panel opens.
Click the "Firewall" tab.
Check the circle next to "Allow All Traffic." The Webroot Firewall is now disabled.

Auto re-newal keeps stating it is expired.

There is a distinction between the program and the subscription for updates. Updates usually get purchased for a year at a time. YOU want the updates, so renew.

I tried to do an update on my webroot internet security essentials. It said there was another program running that needed to be uninstalled before I can update. It uninstalled everything. Now I'm having...

You may have another anti-virus program running which is preventing you from running your Wbebroot program. You can only have one anti virus program running at a time as they usually conflict with one another. With XP, you may have downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials. You can see if it's loaded and running by clicking on Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and Services. Scroll down to the "M's" and see if the "Microsoft Antimalware Service" is listed. If it is, double click on it, and then stop the service by clicking on STOP. Then change the :startup type" to Manual and click on apply and OK. After you do this (or if the Microsoft Antimalware Service is not listed) perform the following.
Shut down yur PC and then power it back up. Immeadiately start tapping the F8 key until you see a menu titled "Windows advanced Options". Use the arrow keys to highlight "Safe Mode with Networking" and press enter. At the log-in screen click on Administrator and then click on "yes" to proceed into safe mode.
Windows will load witha minimal set of drivers. Now put in your Wbroot CD and try to load the program. If if dowsn't load, use "Add Remove Programs"in Control Panel to remove the program, After the program is removed, shut down your computer, start it again in safe mode, and then you should be able to load your Webroot software.
Finally shut down your computer and restart it in the normal manner, If Webroot still will not function, some other program you have loaded is interfering with it. You will have to find and remove the program or contact Webroot for further assistance.

Can not get webroot antivirus to do a scan. It does not expire until May 2011

Get a better anti-virus solution: use Avast, it is much better. Go to www.filehippo.com to download it. Once you are at filehippo, you will find many different, free security downloads, but Avast is the best one there (including Microsoft's Security Essentials).
