Checking phone messages

When trying to retrieve your messages from a different phone, you will call the number and when the message starts playing you will press either # or * (depends on your phone service as to which one you push). The message will stop and you will be asked for your pin/passcode. Enter it and you will be taken to a menu where you can pick the option to retrieve your message.

How do I send a call to internal voice mail?

Use feature 986 (transfer to VM) then enter in the co-workers extension number. That will bypass the extension and send the caller directly to his voicemail.

Cannot retrieve voicemail

When you press the message button, look at the display. Is it really going to the VM extension or is it going to another phone? Othre people could have left you a message by calling you and pressing the MESSAGE buttone either on purpose, or by accident.

You can clear ALL message lights from your phone by dialing *700 plus your extension and #. Of course you can access VM by dialing the VM extension, usually 165 or 500 from the intercom.

I have aN NEC DX2NA and the message waiting light keeps flashing but there is no message

The message waiting light was probably turned on by a co-worker by mistake. That type of telephone set was used on 124i systems among others. If thats the case, to turn off the message waiting lamp press your call1 button followed by 873, press the spk key to hang up. Hopefully that takes care of the problem.

My M7310 keeps calling another internal extension, and it wont' stop.

I think an autodial button for that co-worker may be stuck, try jiggling the autodial buttons to unstick it.

Internal intercom

If the person you are trying to reach is speaking to another internal extension, none of the outside lines will show in use. If their phone is not Call-Forwarded to any other extension (i.e. second extension or VM), you will get a busy.
