Check the following:

  • If paper doesn't feed, remove it from the sheet feeder. Reload it against the right side, behind the tab, then press in the tab on the edge guide and slide it against the paper. Make sure the paper is not above the arrow mark inside the edge guide.

  • If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

  • If the paper doesn't eject fully, you may have set the wrong paper size. Press the paper not feeding for epson nx400 - c:\users\home\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif Stop button, then open the scanner and remove the paper. Select the correct paper size when you reprint.

  • If it's wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin. Load new paper.

  • Make sure you use new, smooth, high-quality paper, that is not curled, creased, old, or too thin. Make sure to load it printable side up.

  • Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.

  • Make sure you load only up to the recommended number of sheets. If you're printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.

If the paper jams, do the following:

1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.

2. To eject the jammed paper, try turning the Epson Stylus NX400 off and then back on.

If that doesn't work and paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus NX400. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus NX400 back on.

It is not the paper. It is the feeder, the actual mechanism that brings in the paper.

You need to clean the print head on the cartridges , please follow these steps\
# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

SOURCE: epson c90 paper feed problem

Is the message general error? The problem is tchip. When turn on chip is recognized by printer, but when start to print, printer "read" some information from the chip. Here is the error. Some pin at the chip for redaing the existence of chip, other pin for reading the information. Check connector between chip and carriage.

SOURCE: I can't get my Epson Nx400 all in one to print on

I had this same issue and I got the printer to print on vellum but I can't say it looked all that great. But here's what I did. I went into the printing preferences and then to the maintenance tab. On the maintenance tab you'll see an option for Printer and option information. Click on that and then you will see a little check box down at the bottom of the pop up and it says Thick paper and envelopes. Put a check in the box. Click ok and then it should print on the vellum for you. Make sure you put the vellum in the printer the right side up (front side) because if you don't it will print all messed up.

My epson nx400 getting message cannot recognize ink cartridges its new out of box replaced magenta after only printing 6 sheets of paper i am using epson inks.

Have you taken out the spacer between the cartridge and its locater handle? Else just try taking the cartridge out and re-inserting. If this fails have you tried powering the printer off, waiting 20 secs, and truning back on.

Hop this helps.

According to the error codes :

Make sure there's no jammed paper or other obstruction inside your Epson Stylus.

The print head may not be able to move because of some obstruction. Follow these steps to remove jammed paper or other obstructions from the Epson Stylus:
Turn off the Epson Stylus.
Open the scanner.

Remove any jammed paper or other obstructions from the paper path.

Carefully lower the scanner.

Turn the Epson Stylus back on.
Note: If you can't remove the paper or foreign object yourself, do not use force and do not disassemble the Epson Stylus.

Good Luck............

Hi, I have an Epson NX 400 (quite new) and it has been feeding the paper at an angle so it jams. We are also out of ink so nothing happens when I try to feed paper thru. Dont want to spend money on...

To correct the paper issue, dampen a cloth and dab it with dish detergent. Then clean all the rubber rollers you see. Also, check and make sure there is no paper residue stuck in the rollers.
When you finish this, try to form feed a piece of paper.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
