The focus control is on the high voltage transformer. These Zeniths were common to have the CRT's fail and cause a blurry dark picture. If the focus control doesn't do much then your CRT is bad.
How old is the set? If picture is really very blurry, Try adjusting 'focus'. You can find this conttrol generally at the rear of the set.
Otherwise,. if you know solid state electronics, Check the Focus control on the FBT. It is also possible that the CTR Base is faulty. Replacing this helps.

Out of focus An image that is out of focus will appear blurry. ... The first is to increase the shutter speed as explained above, The second is to hold your camera steady whileyou take the shot. .... It's always very helpful, and I enjoyed the video.
On TV shows, they can take a blurry picture and enhance it to crystal clarity. In real life, however, those kinds of miracles aren't possible. In a photo editing program like Photoshop Elements, you can bring up the sharpness a little but you eventually reach a point where the picture no longer looks like a normal picture. The slogan is "garbage in...garbage out"...meaning you can only do so much to what you have to work with.
its the convergence problem in your tv.the ic needs replacement.to fix the problem.its worth getting it fixed.get it repaired.
the cost will be negligible.
Fuzzy is a funny word. I never use it to describe a picture problem. That because fuzzy can go too many different ways. There is snowy fuzzy, blurry fuzzy, grainy fuzzy, and demodulated fuzzy. If the set goes out of focus intermittently that has something to do with the focus ciruitry. If it goes grainy that is a front end problem, usually tuner related. The other types of fuzzy are generally associated with problems in video processing some where. So, which is it?
Oh, and BTW that unit has three small picture tubes in it, one red, one blue, and one green. It doesn't have a 'bulb'.
there are 3 things that will make your tv go blurry, the focus and screen control assembly , the high voltage splitter and the horizotal transformer and that is only if all three tubes are blurry.if only one tube is blurry, more than likely the tube itself is bad.
Hi Beth,
Your focus screen network turn faulty. It can be solved by by passing the original focus screen network to a new assembled focus screen network.
behind the front grill is a door with 4 t20 torque screws in it, remove that & to the left will be a screen/focus block, three knobs will be for tube intensity STAY AWAY FOM THOSE. the other three will be your focus for each tube
