The brushes are hitting the hard floor surface. Normally it's best to have the brushes turned off when vacuuming hard surface floors but your model probably does not have that option.
Hi! The brush-roll feature needs to be engaged for the belt to tighten, so when checking the belt it will appear to be loose. Be sure you have replaced both belts on the vacuum with genuine Hoover parts. This unit takes belt 38528034 and 38528035. Also, make sure the vacuum is on carpet mode. Follow the link to view the instruction manual which provides instructions and illustrations on changing the belt to be sure it is assembled properly. http://hoover.com/file/509/
take off the belt . clean any hair from brush roller make sure movement smooth . re position belt and move by hand to make sure roller is not skew , , rubber is riding sideways and causing friction .
You could have a broken fan in the motor and need to replace the fan. If the noise is coming from the brush area of the vacuum, you probably have a broken bearing in your brush roller and would need to replace the brush itself.
the smell is either the motor or the belt, if motor hope it is under warranty, if belt make sure brush roll spins freely and replace belt, if brush roll not spin freely replace it first
It's most likely the bushings/bearings in the beater bar (roller). The beater bar cover is fairly easy to remove -- take it off and investigate. Could be that the roller only needs lubricating on the ends. Also, check the belt to see if it's intact or damaged.
no, brush roller shouldn't be touching anything, its under warrenty so take it to a hoover repair shop with your proof of purchase and they will fix it at no cost to you.something like that they might be able to fix it while your there because it won't take long. please leave feedback
If the belt is getting hot, then it is slipping instead of turning the brush roll. Check thge brush roll, make sure the ends are turning freely. Is the motor running ok? If it is then either the brush roll is bad, need a new belt, or something is catching the belt, not letting it move.
