SOURCE: asus eeepc 1000H web cam wont work

go to
Start - Control Panel - Classic view - Administrative tools - Computer Management - Device Manager
and look to see if it shows up on the right, if you see "unknown devices" and it's not showing, guess what...it doesn't recogize it.
So, simply go download the driver for it (find it on google), then go to device manager, and uninstall the device, or simply restart the computer, and it should auto attempt to install it. :)

SOURCE: Netbook type: Asus Eee PC series Operating system:

1) Try the get software option, see if you can download some software. Anything will do just to test the function.

2) If that works ok, then its a problem with Firefox and not your internet connection.

3) If its a problem with Firefox, using the same function remove Firefox, reboot then re-ininstall.

4) If you can't download anything, then your network connection needs looking at.

I uninstalled my web cam on my ASUS K501, a while back , thinking I will never use it....I was wrong!...Ive tried almost everything to get it back...with no success....im using windows 7-64 bit, and...

ok, but is the webcam listed in Device Manager ?

and by 'tried everything' did that include going to the ASUS website and downloading the driver for the webcam ? (make sure to specify that you have the 64-bit ver of win 7.)

PS : need correct model number. Per their website...its a letter-two numbers-two letters. so it's K50i(something) [ j-maybe ?]

here is the J-model page (not the Best-Buy one.)
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=K50IJ&p=3&s=188&os=30&hashedid=ZWrNVPXEbNNTjJZg

It lists four different drivers, three specific camera drivers, and a generic one (the second one down.)

I have a asus notebook k501 and the web cam is up side down how can i fix it i think i mest with it

This may happen because of improper setting of your webcam.

Please follow the below steps to make it fix:

Click on Messenger and select My Webcam

A window will popup on that window click on FILE menu and select Preferences and choose Webcam

Click on Camera setting

Generally there is a button with a check-box saying Invert Image or Mirror Vertical. Un-check it and click on Apply and Ok.

This will definitely solve your problem.

My webcam on my Asus k501 is upside down. I use LifeFrame. How do I fix this problem?

If by upside down you mean that the image you see on the screen is inverted, then the settings of the webcam have been tampered with. When you launch your web cam, you would see the 'settings' option. Then select 'camera/image'. You would see the 'rotate' option. Rotate the image until it is erect. Also, if there is a 'flip' option, select flip vertically to make the image erect.

I hope that has fixed your problem?
Have a wonderful day.

Work my web cam on my asus monitor

I too got the vk26 monitor with the built in webcam. So I too had the problem with the software. I tried drivers, redownloading and uninstalling..etc,etc. But packaged with the monitor is a series of cables, one of which you HAVE to plug the into the back of the monitor and into your computer. I thought that the dvi cable would take care of everything, ehh,I thought wrong. Asus didn't mention that in the very small worded monitor guide. So in short, once you install the software, you must you the usb cable that came with the monitor, plug that in,and you're good to go. =)
