You are not looking for the driver for your monitor. You need the drivers for your video card. It is probably running with the defualt Vista drivers as well and needs to have the correct manufactures drivers installed.
With the correct drivers you should be able to control 2 different settings one for each monitor.

Before paying anyone to work on it, the first thing I would do is plug the monitor up to another pc. If its the video card in your pc then the same thing might happen.

The power supply-inverter board is probably at fault. Remove the back cover and locate the standard ac power cord connector. The board that the power input connector is soldered to is your power supply - inverter board. Check the electrolytic capacitors on the board. They probably went bad. A visual inspection is usually enough to find out which ones are bad. They will be either bulging or cracked at the top and leaking fluid. I usually replace all of the capacitors that have the same rating whether they look bad or not. Will save you another repair later. If the caps don't look bad, you can take the board to your local tv repair shop and have the caps checked with a esr tester. It's more accurate and they can be tested with the caps in place. Hope this helps.

There are 3 low ESR Electrolytic capacitors in the power supply that fail. They are 1000uF 25V and can be replaced with RS Components opart number 315-0619

Thsi model is known for having bad DC filter caps as shown here:

But from your description, it sounds like it also not getting the video signal from the PC.
I would try this monitor with another PC first.

Monitor went out and only displays a black screen. The power button indicates that the power is on but no picture. The model is an HP f1905 19 inch flat screen monitor.

Use a flashlight and shine on your screen. Look carefully is you still see the image on the screen. If you do, this is an indication that the monitor is still working, but the backlight has failed. A common solution with backlight-failures is to open the monitor, and look if you see any "swollen" capacitors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague). If you see one you should replace it. Only open your monitor if you know what you're doing and have basic knowledge of electronics and soldering.

Have tested all cords and monitor is black. Power light is on. Am sure this is an internal problem with monitor, Is this something that can be repaired? HP f1905

Possibly.

The "inverter" inside the LCD screen may have failed.

It's about a $20 part, but I highly recommend that you pay a qualified technician $60 ("one hour labour") to disassemble, change the bad part, resassemble, and test the device. Much cheaper than trying it yourself, damaging the monitor, and then spending $200 to replace it.
