Need to swipe touchpad numerous times for it to move

The touchpad works intermitently. I sometimes need to swipe the touchpad 8-10 times for it to react(cursor to move from the right hand side of the screen to the left). Sometimes, it will only increase/decrease the page size.

I would suggest you to check the touchpad app in control panel. I guess your have synaptic drivers installed see if you can adjust few settings to suit your touch sensitivity.

SOURCE: cursor/touchpad sometimes does not work

depending on the laptop there is a switch that turns the touchpad on and off. My hp is on the touchpad rim, yours may also be a switch on the side or a combination of ksys, like F9 and the alt or control key, if this dosen't work, jus give me the make and model of the laptop and i'll find it for you, please don't forget to rate us as that determines our compensation, good luck and happy holiday Gym

SOURCE: frozen touchpad

I followed the advice of pressing the FN and F7 keys at the same time. It didn't work when the program was fully loaded, but I rebooted and tried again during the rebooting and it worked. I had the frozen cursor on the Travel Mate (Acer) also.

SOURCE: My touchpad right and left click button stopped working

is there a touch pad lock button, that locks the pad? if there isn't then there is most likely excess debris or dust or something under there that needs to be blown out with airisol can. If both of those solutions don't work then i would check to make sure the driver is installed for the touch pad. Good Luck. and i hope it works out.

How do I stop the auto menu from popping up everytime I move the mouse on Windows 8?

Yes, it is annoying. I solved it by going into mouse advanced settings and uncheck the check box for Enable Edge Swipes. If you don't have this option in track pad properties, then you need to go to Synaptics website, (If you have a Synaptics touchpad), and download their latest software and install it. It will tell you that it is better to use the OEM version, but in my case, they had taken that option out of the touchpad properties.

How do i copy and paste on acer c7 chromebook

"to copy and paste a paragraph" - I just used my c7 to copy the prior phrase from you the text in your question and to paste it into this "add your solution" answer box. Here's how I did it...... 1-I placed the cursor in front of the word "to", and while holding the touchpad down with my left finger, swiped the cursor through the phrase to the end of the word "paragraph" (thereby highlighting the desired phrase), then lifted both hands. 2- With the cursor over the end of the highlighted phrase, I used my left finger to hold down the "alt" key to the left of the touchpad the clicked the touchpad causing the drop-down copy menu to appear, then lifted both hands. 3-I then used the touchpad to move the cursor over the word "copy" in the drop-down menu and clicked the touchpad.
4-Then I placed the cursor in this "answer" text-box clicked once once. Next I held down the "alt" key to the left of the touchpad and clicked the touchpad to cause the "paste" drop-down menu to appear and raised both hands. Finally I moved the cursor over the word "paste" in the drop-down menu and clicked the touchpad, thereby successfully copying and pasting the phrase from your question. PS - an alternative to holding the left alt key and clicking to get the drop-down menu is to place two fingers on the touchpad (about a half inch apart) and click with both fingers simultaneously. The latter method only works about 75% of the time for me, so I recommend using the alt key.

Sometimes the dell inspiron 1525 touchpad works ok (never like it should) and other times it won't move. It freezes up and just won't move. I waste so much time trying to get that arrow to move around...

You will need to go to www.support.dell.com there you will have to download the corect drivers from the touchpad,as it would seem that you have a driver problem. If not you might have to replace the palmrest.
Good Luck
