The touchpad works intermitently. I sometimes need to swipe the touchpad 8-10 times for it to react(cursor to move from the right hand side of the screen to the left). Sometimes, it will only increase/decrease the page size.

depending on the laptop there is a switch that turns the touchpad on and off. My hp is on the touchpad rim, yours may also be a switch on the side or a combination of ksys, like F9 and the alt or control key, if this dosen't work, jus give me the make and model of the laptop and i'll find it for you, please don't forget to rate us as that determines our compensation, good luck and happy holiday Gym

I followed the advice of pressing the FN and F7 keys at the same time. It didn't work when the program was fully loaded, but I rebooted and tried again during the rebooting and it worked. I had the frozen cursor on the Travel Mate (Acer) also.

is there a touch pad lock button, that locks the pad? if there isn't then there is most likely excess debris or dust or something under there that needs to be blown out with airisol can. If both of those solutions don't work then i would check to make sure the driver is installed for the touch pad. Good Luck. and i hope it works out.

I spoke with ASUS Canada this am and we uninstalled the drivers. No change. They now want tme to back up all content and reinstall OS. Would rather not, but I am open to this being a last resort.
