I presume you are referring to a Microsoft .Net Passport to allow you access to certain sites or Microsoft Instant Messaging, Windows Live sites?
You don't mention what version of Windows you're running so will walk you through setting one up in XP and Vista or 7.
Please note: You do not have to have a Hotmail or MSN email account to work with .Net Passport, any valid, existing email address will work. So if you have a @gmail.com or @yahoo.com account, you can still set it up as a .Net Passport.
XP first:
1. Click on Start then Control Panel. Open up User Accounts and click on your account.
2. Click on where it says "Set up my account to use a .Net Passport.
3. Follow the screen instructions.
You can use your existing email address or sign up for a new on through Hotmail or MSN. Just follow the instructions on each screen and you will be all set.
In Vista or 7 it does not have the wizard option in your User Account.
1. Click
here and look to the left side of the page and click where it says "Sign Up".
2. It will walk you through the same wizard to set your .Net Passport up.
Easy as pie.
Thank you for using FixYa.
