I have an old dell desktop that we use a cable to connect to the dsl router. how can i turn on the wireless capability of this router so that i can use a laptop to connect around the house? router 6218-i2 zhone
i am sure it is obvious that i am not so computer savy so please direct me to step by step directions.

You can try this.
1. Launch your web browser.
2. Enter the URL http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and click on
Enter.
A login screen like the one below will be displayed after you connect to the
user interface.
3. Enter your user name and password, and then click on OK to display
the user interface. You type admin for both username and password field.
4. Click the + sign next to Wireless
5. Click on Security - Now go on the network authentication set it to WPA-PSK
6. You will have a field where you can type your password - make sure its at least 8-63 characters
7. Then you click appy/save. Then you reconnect to your wireless network and this time you will be ask for a password.

In some cases, MTU is not necessary to adjust. Its always automatic and
defaulted to 1500. The router model that you have doesn't have MTU
settings. You can download the User's Manual HERE. You must do port forwarding and open the xbox live port so you can play xbox live. If it keeps on telling you about MTU, you must set static IP address on your xbox's settings and power cycle your devices.
