I have a dvd magnavox i lost the original remote control is it possible that i can replace it with a universal remote control?

Any universal remote that was programmed 6 months or more after the DVD recorder was released will probably have a code that activates most of the features on the unit.

hi have you tried scanning all codes with the remote untill it picks up the correct signal if you have the manual it will tell you how to do this if its possible it will work after searching the codes.

If you wish to select its input, you must have its original remote control. No universal remote control will go. Try get an original one. Contact the authorised service center for Magnavox.

Yes, a Philips replacement remote should be an excellent choice for your Magnavox DVD player, since they are sister companies. I am using the inexpensive Philips URC US2-PH5DSS and it works well. Your Philips remote will come with a page with all manufacturer codes listed by the type of device. Or you can visit the Philips URC code lookup website at www.urc.philips.com.

The codes listed for Magnavox DVD players are:
0441, 0442, 0447, 0599, 0799, 0699, 0247, 0193, 0093, 0598 You'll have to try them one at a time to see which works best for your player's functions.

You most likely will not be able to find a code for it because it is an off brand (not-so-well known brand) and most universals will not have codes for that brand. if your universal remote doesnt have codes for the Mintek brand or has them and they dont work then, sorry that remote will not work for you. you will need to try and get a different one. or try and get the original remote. you can try finding the original remote at ReplacementRemotes.com by typing in the model of the Mintek DVD player. or you can try Ebay.
