Same problem, just happened. I suspect the TV was bumped by kiddos when i wasn't looking. Left 1/3 of the screen is not in focus - the colors are clearly not aligned, but the rest of the screen seems to be OK. Not the same TV, but Sony rear projection TV that has same symptoms. Worth a repairman to come out? Can I fix this myself? Worth the cost? Someone, anyone, please reply.

Re: picture is out of synch so in parts of the screen it...
Well you can do it yourself if you have experince unsoldering and soldering.. change convergence amplifiers .. look for 2 parts with STK392-XXX .. depending on model number the 3 xxx will be the last 3 digits on that part

Due to persistent on/off some components inside the TV might have become faulty, leaky. It can also be due to lose contacts. This might need attention by a qualified service technician.
It sounds like your screen may be broken. If that's the case, then you may have to bring it to the store to have your screen replaced. From what you've stated, it doesn't seem to be any problem of the software.
u will need to replace the screen. if u are good with small electronics then u can do it yourself or the service center will help you out. if u want to do it yourself then just follow up back to me. i'll help you with the parts & the steps of replacing it.
try seeing if your friend is making the disortion on purpose for example try a diffrent audio chat with another friend on msn if its still disorted reinstall your sound driver
It's not your cd-rom but more likely your speakers. Borrow or swap your current speakers that you know work & sound good.
If they sound good on your system. You need new speakers. If the sound is still disorted. Than your sound card can be
defective or the sound out-put jack is not getting a good connection. Without the Pc model number & Mfg's make I can not go any fauther with suggestions.
