SOURCE: help with a noisy Fisher & Paykel dryer

I have the same problem. Replacing the front glides (two glides cost under $20 plus labor and service call). The second time it seems to be more than the front glides. Service tech says that it is the blower moving back and forth on the motor shaft. (Because of a worn indentation on the shaft..). Therefore, he says that I must replace the motor and the blower--parts cost approx. $290, plus labor and service call. Ouch! Also says that the plastic front support piece is worn. More money! So, I am looking at a new dryer instead of trying to patch up the one I have (it's out of warranty.)

SOURCE: I need a Fisher and Paykel GW 601 Electric Dryer bearing

If the noise is like a shaking of rattling , like coins being shaked , then it is an object trapped inside the drum.

If instead the noise is a loud grinding , that may get louder on high speed, then it is usually a bad drum bearing.

Rollers and belt tensioner can also make noise.

The dryer is squeaking/squealing during operation. It is a high-pitched noise that is rather loud. It is also getting very hot. We vacuumed the lint bucket area behind the cover, which fixed the...

I am having a similar issue. I had a tech out to look at it and he recommended replacing the drum bearing and idler jockey pulley. ($419.95) Ouch. I am going to do this on my own. I ordered the part from paykelfisherparts.net. Part # 479332 Drum Bearing Kit $79.91.

Check here for more info. This was exactly what I found on my machine (DGGX1) http://fisherpaykelparts.net/techhelp/fisher-paykel-top-load-dryers-us-models/731-fisher-paykel-dggx1-top-load-dryer.html

I did not totally trust the repair dude. He was wierd and not very thorough. I can tell the bearing is bad, if there are still noises I will order up the jockey pully thing and see if I can figure that out.

Here is a link to the service manual. (https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B5If-wTgYWH5OGNkY2RmZDEtMWU4OS00MjgwLTg3OWEtMmRlZjY0N2I5MzYy&hl=en)

Fisher and Paykel top load gas dryer makes very loud noises.

You may have something stuck in the blower wheel, or more unlikely something stuck in the bearing(s). Will need a Tech to come out.

Fisher and Paykel Dryer ED56 Noise

your rear bearubg is mnost likely failed. and the back plaer is now hitting against the drum.
Part number (Fisher & Paykel Dryer Rear Drum Bearing Kit Part 479317)
you can replace this eazily by yourself.
check that the belt is over both rollers as well.. sometimes they slip off one of them.. especailly if moved around.
but this rear bearing is very bad. If you can find a skateboard bearing. it will fit nicely too. a much cheaper replacement and works fine. must get a good quility one lol (but any flate bearing is fine if you can find some in your workshop or neighbours lol
