My Roland G70 power up problem. .

When I shut off my Roland G-70 keyboard, then try to turn it back on, the screen lights up but it won't power up all the way. I have to wait several hours before it will power up completely. Once it powers up completelly, everything works as it should.

Open up the Roland G-70 and check if all the connectors and flatcables are well seated. Check also if the power supply is working as supposed to.

Check your power cord. Sometimes they break near one of the plug ends. Use an Ohmmeter to verify continuity.

SOURCE: My Roland KR-4700 keyboard will come on and play

This si likely a problem in the power supply. The regulator is probably failing and dropping the voltage to the processor below what it will operate.

The probkem PROBABLY can be isolated with freeze mist circuit cooler.

First step is to check the voltage of the 5 volt source after it fails.

If you are not adept at electronics this is not a DIY thing.

SOURCE: Casio keyboard lit up, no sound, no responses

Unplug for several minutes and try again.

If that doesn't work, look up the "factory reset" procedure for your particular model via google and follow that procedure. It usually involves holding certain buttons down before and during power up.

SOURCE: I have the Roland Boss

I am not positive on this but I would try to clear all of the loops. Try holding the right pedal for about 5 seconds.
If that does not work, hold the right pedal for about seconds while you turn off the unit. Release the right pedal then turn the unit back on.
Hope that helps!

SOURCE: Fc4 sustain pedal is in

Sorry, but the Yamaha pedal has the opposite sense (it is a normally open contact) than what is REQUIRED by Roland equipment. Roland requires a Normally Closed contact. Unfortunately, one is confused because the Roland jack for the sustain shorts itself to no sustain when you unplug a pedal. SOMETIMES one can open a pedal and with soldering iron change a wire to reverse the pedal sense IF the particular pedal has both contacts available.

I got a roland jx-1 keyboard with no power supply. i tried radio shack power supply (12v - 500ma) as mentioned at the back of the keyboard and i was able to turn it on but couldn't hear any sounds..plz...

search google for "JX-1 FACTORY RESET". If that does not help, try your headphones. If that neither, you blew the Audio Power Amp circuit. Take it to a Tech. Good luck !!

Does anyone know hot to change a Roland E-70 musical keyboard's internal battery?

Well I did it. Remove 14 screws marked with arrows. Be careful separating the top from the bottom as there are several cables to deal with. The only cable I disconnected was the larger Ribbon Cable. The CR 2032 battery slides out by lifting the end of the retainer about 1/16 of an inch. Then simply slide in the new battery and make sure it is seated. Then just reassemble.

How to do transposition on Roland E-70 Intelligent Synthesizer from C to B

I don't know if you still need this information but here's a button by button guide that I've done. I've got an E-70 myself. Now if I can only find that **** internal battery that stores all my sounds I'd be laughing.

Press Menu (the button on the right underneath the light-up display), make sure the arrows are highlighted around the 'Param' setting and if not, turn the jog dial anti-clockwise to get the arrows there. Press Enter and then on next screen press Enter 5 times to see the Transpose display flash and use the jog dial to change from -11 semitones to +11 semitones and press Enter or backup to come out of this screen. Now, whenever you press the Transpose button (the grey button on the bottom right-5th button in from the right), the keyboard will automatically change. You can store different sounds in different keys, so for example I used to play Knocking On Heaven's Door and had this lovely riff when I played in G but it didn't sound the same if I played it in A so I transposed it to play and performed live in A while playing it in G. As long as you what presets you use for different songs, it's quite easy to get used to.

If you haven't had a response or sorted it out yet, I hope this helps.

Kind regards

I have a Roland Plus 70 electric piano (1982 era). A number of black and white keys have stopped working, from the left, white key 10 through to 16 and black keys 7 to 12. Initially, turning the power...

The key contacts have gotten dirty or worn. Most Roland keyboards use conductive rubber contacts that are pressed against circuit traces underneath the keys. These can often be cleeaned to restore operation, but this is not a DIY type project. The cost of repair probably exceeds the value sorry to say and parts may not be availablle... In this case I would probably recommend you get a newer unit as they have many decent synths now for a little over $100 and repair would likely be several times that. Also look at the used market and MANY thrift stores have units... make sure you test any for operation before buying. If one can afford $250, here is a candidate with 76 keys: Also you can search Ebay but do be careful of used items that have no guarantee.

I have a very loud hiss/buzz sound coming from my Roland. It goes away if I lower the high volume knob. This just starred to happen recently. I tried changing connections from ch1-4 but no fix.

If this ties to a keyboard, make sure the keyboard and this are BOTH plugged into the same receptacle. You should send a higher level from the keyboard (turn volume up to around 70% or so) and use less volume at the input gain of this amp. Use more at master volume if the amp has one if needed. If the hiss is there with NO input cables plugged in and input gains at 50%, that is objectionable, the amp probably needs servicing. Unused channel gains should be clear down.
