Kenmore Quiet Guard 2 keypad

Typically when using the dishwasher-cycle and option keys are touched-green lights light up the selections-pressing start begins the process. Should the process need to be interrupted press cancel. To begin again simply press start. Now the cycles and options are not lighting nor working. If cancel is pressed it actually starts with no water then stops a few moments later. If start is pressed the cancel light comes on and its the same as pressing the cancel button. It worked fine twice yesterday. We had a 5 year old visitor yesterday. I don't know that that is relevant. I am still able to put the "lock" on and off using the air dry key. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for such a quick response! Especially on a holiday weekend. Wow!
After trying your suggestion now a red light will come on when a cyle key is pressed. However, that's all it's doing. Any other suggestion would be appreciated. Dinner is at our place this holiday!
    Thanks again-it really is appreciated!

Sounds like the electronic controls (smart card) are acting up. Try shutting off the power at your fuse box or shut off the circuit breaker for 1 minute them turn the power on again. This fix quite often works on electronic appliances.

How do I shut my panel off for my kenmore presicion dishwasher with quiet guard

First turn off the child-lock or control-lock function. Usually this is done by holding down a particular key 3 to 5 second. The key to press is usually marked, but in very tiny (or light-gray) print.

Kenmore dishwasher ultra was quiet guard 3 model 56516012403 control panel will not activate red lights blinking on normal wash and cancel drain. did the hold the heat dry button then the normal wash...

that would be model # 66516012403 correct??
you may have inadvertently set the lock on function..
check this out from your manual...

Lock On
Use the Lock On to prevent unintended use of the dishwasher
between cycles. You can also use the lock feature to prevent
unintended cycle or option changes during a cycle.
When LOCK ON is lit, all buttons are disabled.
NOTE: The dishwasher door can be opened while the controls
are locked. However, the lock must be turned off and the Start/
Resume button pressed to resume the cycle.
To turn on the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. LOCK ON glows.
If you press any pad while your dishwasher is locked, the light
flashes 3 times.
NOTE: If the Heated Dry option is selected, the light will
temporarily turn off until Lock On glows.
To turn off the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. The light turns off.

hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn

Kenmore Ultrawash Quiet guard 3; can't get the clean light to turn off to be able to start cycle

Try pressing normalwash-heatdry-normalwash-heatdry-normalwash-heatdry-normalwash-heat then all the lights come on.
Let run for a little bit. then keep pressing the start button... until the unit shuts off, then try running a cycle.
The control board has a memory in it. So if you have cold water running in it one time. It will take longer to warm up. Your memory in the control board says its taking to long to warm up. Shutting down thinking there is something wrong with your heating cycle.

Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher

have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.

Green blinking light

If you don't have the manual for your dishwasher to find out why the green light blinks, try to get the model number off your dishwasher from the inside edge and go online to find a website that provides online manuals.

Kenmore ultra wash quiet guard 3 dishwasher problem

call sears, 1-800-4MY-HOME. They have a trouble-shooting department that will get rid of this problem. It is caused by water temperature being wrong at the start of the cycle.... blah, blah, blah. The representative will tell you to push a certain set of buttons in a certain order and that unlocks the dishwasher.

Sorry I don't know the sequence

Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back
