Question about Toshiba Tecra 8100 Notebook
Cannot start the laptop while you insert AC adapter w/ battery or even if not have battery.. only i can see is blinking led light on its power indicator.. sometimes it starts.. i do pressing pattern while blinking, but after several days, it won't start at all.. Only blinking LED power supply indicator again and again.. 5 blink fast, 1 pre-blink, and 1 loooong blink..

Its certainly power issue..... i have had a similar problem with one other toshiba notebook and it was a dying battery....i suggest you to get a new battery for ur set...

Symptoms of a broken power jack
1. If you wiggle the power cord or the AC Adapter connector on the back of the laptop, the power LED and battery charge LED start to flicker.
2. Battery will not charge in the laptop.
3. Laptop runs fine off a charged battery.
4. With the AC Adapter connected the laptop appears to be dead.
