I have Imperial series clean touch washer and the agitator suddenly stopped and water drained out, I tried again to fill with water, at the level water sopped but the agitator wouldn't start and water drained off. What could be the problem?

i have Imperial series clean touch clothes washer from whirlpool and the agitator stopped suddenly and water drained out, tried again to fill with water, it reached it's level but the agitator didn't start and water drained out, what could be the problem?

after the wash cycle, it only drains about half the soapy water before it stops draining... and fills with rinse water. so you never get a complete rinse and clothes feel and smell like soap.

Exact same problem. After agitate mode machine won't go into rinse mode.

  • thastlc Mar 13, 2008

My washer will occasionally not spin all of the water out at the end of the cycle. Right now I am able to run it through the spin only cycle and it will spin the remaining water out. Any ideas on why it will sometimes do this? (I have the same load amount in each load)

    Thanks!

The washer stops at the rinse and spin cycle. Now it is full of water and will not drain or spin or empty. Plus there is a funny odor coming from the machine. I think it might be the motor is bad. Your opinion.

I had the same problem with this washer. It was the lid switch.

I also had the lid switch problem. I got it to work by messing with it for a few seconds.

Jewel 42  I had a similar problem with mine, it wouldn't drain or spin.  It was the sensor/lever that lets the machine know that the lid is closed... the screw casing that held it in place had broken... I tied it back in place covered the string with duct tape and now it works fine... or at least it did until the pump cracked this week.

I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care 2 Imperial Series washer that doesnt spin out very well. It will sometimes spin out but leaves the clothes very damp. Sometimes the washer will try to spin itself out but ...

First thought is that the cycles are off.we have the same problem with ours right now. That slow spin speed concerns me. The motor could be going bad. If this washer is 10-12 years old, you may want to look at replacing it. Does the machine ever start agitating before it finishes filling. If so, the cycle mechanism is going bad. This has a whole host of potential problems. Ave a rep look at it. He can narrow it down quickly.

I have an whirlpool ultimate care II Imperial Series Model # LSN2000JQ2 Serial:CM2819491 Type: III That will fill but won't agitate. Is this something I can really fix on my own?

Could be a problem with the lid switch or motor coupling. Does it drain? Does it spin?
when its time to agitate or spin, do you hear the motor?
Lets start with the lid switch. open the lid and use a screw driver to push the switch down. pay attention to see if you hear it click. Try to run the unit with the screw driver holding down the switch.
Let me know what happens so I can further assist you.

Whirlpool top load washer no low-speed agitation. The unit fills, starts the wash cycle with normal agitation, but after a few minutes it just sits there soaking until the it's time to drain/spin. Drains...

Either the wire going to motor for non working speed is loose or damaged, or motor is bad. It could also possibly be timer not sending power to motor for that speed.

Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.

Stops in the middle of wash cycle

Hi!

If the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.
