I have a Rowenta Professional Titan Plus, Model DE-821 steam iron. The bottom plate is loose and nearly falling off. I bought the appropriate screw at the hardware store and removed the bottom screw. How do I dissemble the iron from there? Anyone know? thanks.
I have a DX9800 so the screws might be different, but a Torx T-20 regular tip takes out the two screws on the base, it takes a security t-20 torx tip to remove the screw in the base, hope this helps.

After you take the two screws on the bottom out, take a small flat-head and pry the bottom plate off. The short is probably somewhere in the bend from flexing. Cut the wires inside the iron base, leaving enough slack to splice with a wire nut. Loosen the cord crimper and pull the wire through (making cord shorter on plug end) until you can cut past the break in the wire. Splice with wire nuts and reassemble. Now pat yourself on the back for saving $100 on a new iron!

Rowenta Proffessional DX8800 Iron - approx. 2 years old - apparently a short in the cord - iron end.
Have taken no steps to resolve problem. Can you tell me where to take to have it fixed? Is it worth fixing?
MY de-336 has a short in the cord. I do not have a tool to take it apart and repair it. The iron cuts on and off as I use it
i have the same problem. i'll look at lowes for the screwdriver head.
Short in cord - was going on & off, now no power at all. CAN'T OPEN - DON'T HAVE CORRECT SCREWDRIVER.
