My Samsung YP-T8 has worked great until now. I downloaded two new songs and can see the songs in the directory of the mp3 player, but it will not play them. I have tried resetting the player, deleting the songs and recopying them onto the player, and even tried redownloading the songs. The player just refuses to play the songs. For example, if the new songs are number 6 and 7, then the player will play song 5 and then skip to 8. What is the problem??? Anyone know???
I think you should ask yourself these questions:
1) Are the song formats compatible with your MP3 player?
2) Is it possible that the website(s) you downloaded them from had/have given you faulty songs?
3) Am I smart enough to figure ot without PC Geek's help that I might need to try to download a different song on the same computer, the same songs on a different computer, or a different song on a different computer?

Ok you need to know exactly what model number player you are using as there are three versions of the YP-T8.
* YP-T8A
* YP-T8X
* YP-T8Z
Once you know that then you go to the samsung site and download the appropriate driver. Looks something like this: FM/200611/20061107201844343_YP_T8_ROM_20060609_138US.zip
Once you do that you have to unzip or extract the file. Windows should do this automatically. According to the directions you then take the files that it unzips and put them on your mp3 player.
So connect your mp3 player to the computer via that usb cable. It should show up as a Removable Device under My Computer.
Find the files you just extracted. Should be YP_T8.fnt, YP-T8.rom and YP-T8.img You then simply copy those files into the mp3 player which is that new removable device drive. The root folder is the first area you see when you first explore the drive. i.e. any folder you see on that mp3 player when you double click on it is actually a sub-folder and not the root folder. So open it up and copy those files right there.
After which you then do as the directions say. Unplug the mp3 player, power it off and then connect your charger. It says it will automatically upgrade the firmware and then automatically turn on so it should just be a waiting game at that point.
Good luck!
Try to do it on a different computer. There are many reasons for this, the most common one is a problem and/or virus with the computer and/or mp3 player.
here is the link to the manual;

Hope this helps :)
I think you have a virus on your computer. If there is any hope for your songs, try to copy them to another computer. If they don't work there, they are probably infected. Sorry!
Just find the songs details, and unclick skip when shuffle!! OR Windows media player 10 and 11, are almost the same, I use both, and I don't really know the difference. Go to start, click contrl panel, then change or remove programmes. Go to windows media player 11, and press delete! It won't delete it, it will change it back to windows media 10!!
I think there is a problem with your system. Download the latest firmware. If you have the yp-t8x then go here:
(http://www.samsung.com/support/productsupport/download/Model_Select2.aspx?type=MP3+Player&subtype=Archived+MP3+Players&model=YP%2DT8X&fileType=FM&LSSI=%2Finclude%2FSSI%2Fus%5Fleft%2FLMenu%5FMP3Player%5FArchivedMP3Players%2Esec&RSSI=%2Finclude%2FSSI%2Fus%5Fright%2FRMenu%5FMP3Player%2Esec)
If not, search for firmware for your mp3 player and follow instructions for installation.
Hope this helps!
