Compatibility of parallel and usb

I have Canon LBP-800 laser printer with parallel prot and have computer with USB port.
I connect my LBP-800 printer with Parallel and USB Converter but printer is not functioning. I am using Windows XP.
Please solve the problem in details.

    I have the same problem. Cannot find a proper driver for LBP 800 which is compatible with XP. But strange is that it workd with my old
    Please help me.

    I found the driver and downloaded it but can't get my Canon LBP800 to work with my laptop which has windows 98. Does this mean I have to ditch my perfectly good printer and buy another one?

Whish port is used to connect canon laser printer lbp2900B.
if the printer has a parallel port then your computer should also has a parallel port, but if your computer dont have any parallel port then try using usb cord which is bundled on the printer during purchased.
or buy USB cord for printer at any computer shop area..

How to install canon lbp-800 using parallel to usb convertor
Connect the printer to your system using the USB cable, power on the printer the power on your computer. when the computer is fully booted and you login, the system should automatically detect the printer as a new hardware. Insert the CD that came with the printer into your systems CD-ROM drive and install the printer driver following the instruction on the screen.

Canon lpb printer new driver
go to google and type in drivermax it is free to use and very easy you can also update all other drivers with this tool,i have it on my system and i never payed a dime ,no personal info is ever given out,it is a lot of fun give it a try you wont be sorry ,good luck and have fun with this new tool.

Canon LBP 800 and Vista
To solve this problem i used VMWare with Windows XP (also Ubuntu worked fine):
1. Install LBP-800 on vistual PC use real LPT1 and virtual one.
2. Set Cannon LBP-800 share mode.
3. Setup workgroup network:  my real computer and virtual.
4. Install LBP-800 on my real PC as a network printer
