My Screen show several lines of distorted pixels?

My Screen show several lines of distorted pixels about 6 inches in lenght in rows of 3 or 4 and in the center of the screen there is a section about 6 inches wide by 9 inches lenght of the distorted pixels. You can still watch TV but these lines of distorted pixels are there and the large one has the color green and sometimes blue only when something apears to be black on a scene? Help me please.

SOURCE: Horizontal (dashed) line across screen

On the KDFE55A20 this sounds like a bad Q-Box. I would get an estimate from a Sony authorized servicer as this part may be quite expensive. On the 55A10 model this may be the B-Block and is also quite expensive. Getting an on-sit estimate would be the first step I suggest. Again go with an authorized Sony servicer. Call Sony or go to Sony.com for customer service. Good Luck

SOURCE: Permanent Vertical Line on my Sony Bravia 46 inch LCD TV

What you're describing is usually the result of an improperly seated connector. With the power disconnected, open the tv and locate any connectors between the LCD screen and the driver circuit board. Unplug them, and reconnect it assuring it's properly and firmly seated. Be careful when handling these cables as they tend to be quite fragile... take your time.

Line top to bottom of screen 4 inches from left side; whole area distorted. appears after tv is on 15 minutes. does not go away. tv is 2-3 years old. was not dropped.

A TV does not to be dropped to get errors. The screen is build up with a a few million pixels. they are switched on and of in lines and rows.
Bundles of rows and bundles of lines have a combined "switcher" If one bundle gets a poor supply (bad contact or defective electronics) a band of pixels will act different or not at all.
I'm afraid it is a normal defect and you need a tech to solve the problem.
Before you order someone to repair, ask what it will cost, because in 3 years TV sets became much cheaper. Perhaps a new one is cheaper than a repair.

How big is the screen on the new iPhone 5?

One of the most exciting new features with the iPhone 5 is the larger screen display. In order to compete with the rest of the market, Apple decided to increase their screen size to 58 mm which beats the screen size of a Samsung galaxy by nearly 11 mm. You can now have five rows of apps per page, whereas before your iPhone could hold only four rows

I have a LG DU50PX10C with a black vertical line

Plasma televisions have anywhere from 24 to 40 drivers that control the individual rows of pixels comprising the screen. Should any of those drivers fail, the screen will display a 2 or 3-inch black vertical line, and probably shift the image to one side or the other. Driver failure is considered a manufacturing defect, and is not preventable by the owner. In some instances the line can be caused by faulty pixel ribbons that run top to bottom, either faulty of just loose in their connectors etc.

Then there are Stuck Pixels, Pixels become "stuck" due a failure to turn on from its standby state. Occasionally, these pixels die in rows, spanning the full height or width of the screen, or be only a few inches long. These "dead" pixels can turn on randomly, or stay a different color other than black. This is an issue caused from the wire filaments inside the panel failing, or an offshoot from a driver failure. Impact to the screen can cause a row to stick as well, even if there is little to no external indication of damage.

However, in most cases, inspection by an engineer is usually necessary to diagnose exactly what has caused the fault, unfortunately this can be an expensive prospect, not to mention the potential for a painful bill for the repair alongside the inspection fee. If your TV is in its warranty, don't hesitate to claim on it.
I hope this helps you, or at least gives you a better idea of what you potentially could be facing. Good Luck.

Pink and green diagonal lines rollng across the screen??? panasonic 42" Plasma . Only purchased about 3 years ago - but been used very rarely.

Have you tried lifting the ground on the TV? That set has a grounded (3-prong) plug and sometimes sccrolling lines can be caused by a ground loop in your power lines. Are the green and purple lines very short, like just a few rows of pixels tall, or multiple inches, like 3 - 8 tall?

Model# kdl-40w4100 Serial # 8051767 2 years old Horizontal lines in 4.5 inch blocks at the top of the screen

I have the same tv model KDL-40W4100 and around the same age. At the moment I have 16 of
these horizontal lines over the entire screen and they seem to be grouped into 2 lines per row. They are also around 4 inches and two pixel rows high. I have been looking over the Internet for months and found nothing to troubleshooting this issues. In the last few weeks more and more of these groups of lines have been showing up and now i am up to 16 of them and it is becoming unwatchable. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. I also attached a picture to describe it better. Thanks!

I have a Flat screen Sony Bravia KDL-46S4100. Lines go across the screen horizontally about 6 inches apart. There is distortion especially on the right side mostly on lower right. What needs to be done to...

Are the lines all the way across the screen? or just a few? Solid black - or trannslucent?

Horizontal drive has either data, voltage, or control problem from the pixel registry circuit......get it serviced before the problem spreads causing further damage.

However, in all likelyhood, the panel itself is bad. The Bravia line has had a bad rap about the faulty displays, and at $1800 replacement (plus labor) - it may be time to call SONY direct to complain!

Thanks!!

Attach an external monitor to your PC. If the problem continues there, it's your graphics card.
If the problem disappears, you have stuck/dead pixels.
You could try a very gentle rubbing of the pixel(s).

Pink vertical line

From what you discribe it sounds like you have a row of dead pixels.

You can use this website to test for dead pixels:
http://www.gdargaud.net/Hack/DeadPixels.html

If you run the test and confirm that you have dead pixels, contact the laptop's manufacturer for support.
