For some reason my most recent pictures that I have taken don't appear to be on my card. However, when I open one of the old photos already on the camera, the new photo is what opens up. I even moved the photo from the card to my desktop, and the "hidden" photo was what appeared. I first deleted all the photos on the camera. Then I took some new pictures, but when I viewed what I took, the thumbnail showing was one of the old ones that had been deleted. I double clicked on the icon, and the new photo then appeared. I have reset the factory settings, and the same thing still happens. Battery is fine, but can this possibly happen if the memory card is old? Thanks for your help!

try opening the photos with any other viewing software you have - paint, windows picture and fax viewer to name but 2. If you get the same results then the files are probably corrupt, and the probability is that your memory card could be causing the problem, try another card and see if pictures you take can be viewed. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the camera and the olympus software, it just might help. If this doesn't work please post again and we could give you some info on software for recovering corrupt and deleted files. Hope this helps :)

Hello!!!
Try opening the photos thro default windows pictures and fax viewer!!!
SOURCE: Need to permanently delete thumbnails from camera card.
Sounds like you may want to permanently format the memory card while in the camera. This will remove all data that has been written to the card. Have your camera in shooting mode, go to menu and then down to Card tab or setup option and then go to Card Setup or Format option. Highlight Yes and press Ok. This will permanently delete all data from the memory card and you will not see the older images and will only see the newest ones from now on.
Insert a blank CD or DVD into your writable disc drive.
Decide how you want to use the disc:
With a CD/DVD player: Choose this option to create discs that play on CD and DVD players attached to TVs. Don't choose this unless you plan to view the disc on a TV. You can't add any images to this disc later, so be sure to get them all selected the first time.
Type a name for your disc and click Next.
Click the Burn or Burn to Disc button again, if necessary.
