Not required to remove mirror to avoid abnormal sound. The mirror is a part in Laser scanner assembly to reflect the image on OPC drum in various angles depends on model. In your series 1200 having single mirrored scanner assembly mounted on top area. To remove this you need to remove right, left back & top covers.. The laser scanner protect with four screws & two connectors. Remove all take out the unit. For removing the bonnet single screw protection remove this screw, take out cover. Inside you can observe a motor with four faced reflector. While motor got the energy it will rotate, if motor lubes are dried up it will make noise, remove motor head gently,(to remove take out entire motor unit with PCB which protects three screws, you cab observe black 'U' shaped plastic lock unlock it & pull motor up, apply lube to rotor & refix it back, ref see the drawing, you want to clean the mirror? ear bud you can clean surface of the mirror gently..
But it is no so easy, bare hands you cannot handle the mirrors, If mirror disturbed its factory fitted angle its very difficulty to back its own position. Removing the motor also difficulty, motor head carrying 4D reflector, while removing any scratches, or finger prints will damage the quality of prints some times scanner error appears.. how do i remove the mirror on the hp laserjet 1200 - 9_5_2012_11_07_49_am.gif

SOURCE: hp laserjet 1200 paper jam

Please Follow the instructions in an attempt to resolve the issue you are facing:

  • Turn off the printer and remove all paper from the paper tray & disconnect it from the computer.
  • With the printer off, check for any obstructions such as torn paper or foreign objects.
  • Turn on the printer (still disconnected from the computer) and check the lights / lcd screen.

Still getting the same error ? Go for Warranty or Service.

Else,

  • Place 20-30 sheets of paper in the printer, ensuring none of the paper is torn or creased.
  • Make sure that the paper is flush with the far right edge of paper tray, move the left edge paper guide over so that it touches the left side of the paper.
  • Try to feed paper manually (using the paper feed button).

If you still get the error let me know for further troubleshooting,

Dont vote till you find it is Helpful or FixYa.

Thanks,
Scott

SOURCE: Is it possible to take mirror image printing using by HP Laserjet 1022

That works as the Driver and application( End user is using) settings.
This can be done from software not hardware.

SOURCE: My HP Laserjet 1200 is screeching constantly

Probably the laser-mirror motor. It will screech until the load gives a error and the printer shows error/ is dead.
However, the motor can be lubed. Remove sides, remove screws found, remove top cover. Remove and open the black box containing laser. Remove motor board and lube the motor, dont get the mirror dirty. Asseble. Total time 15min...

SOURCE: HP laserjet 1200 series printer makes a groaning

Sorry, it's old, cranky, and worn out. Live with it, or buy a new one, it's not cost effective to fix it.

How do I clean the laser mirrors myself? is there a manual or video that can show me how. i don't have the money to pay to have it done. the cheapest quote i have gotten is way more than i can...

Fist you need confidence.. then only you try it.. no video/manual for this, because of its no suggestible. Read once again & once again understand it then try it..

Open back cover & side covers.. two boards you will found at back side left one is formatter & right one DC controller. remove both DC & formatter, mark the connectors where you removed.
Remove the plate where DC & formatter placed, after that only you will find the scanner assm.
Two screws only protected to scaner assm, mark them where you removed.
Scanner assm: While cleaning the scanner assm must be wear glows..to avoid finger prints.
Remove the scanner assm cover(two screws) & shutter. Observe two motors with four reflecting mirrors, clean the mirrors & engine reflector sides(a squared metal part which was rotates along with the motor) with ear buds
gently. ( ear buds are good cleaning method) while fixing the unit back ensure that seated properly.. fix back every thing & do calibration.. check the print quality, if you failed to fix the scanner unit in properly, you need to do entire things once again.. Good luck..

Paper jam in HP 1200 printer

Hi,Make sure you got every single piece in there, and if you can't get it to work, just hard reset it. Unplug it from the wall wait 5 seconds, plug it back in. Should be good as new.

The LaserJet 1200 has two paper inputs, a regular paper tray and a priority input tray that is used for envelopes, labels and transparencies.
Paper jams rarely happen with the HP LaserJet 1200. If you can see paper sticking out of the input or output tray, try to remove it gently. If you encounter resistance or if the page tears, turn off the lights in the room to avoid exposing the toner to light. Open the toner door, which is above the paper tray, and the output door, and rotate the green levers down. At this point, you might be able to remove the jammed paper. If not, remove the toner cartridge.
Grasp the page in both hands and gently pull it free. Replace the toner cartridge and close the doors. The cartridge and the levers will slide back into place.

Hope that helps..

If my printer is squeaking what could be the problem besides the toner cartridge?

Squeaking noise is usually caused by the toner cartridge, expecially after market ones. But if its not the toner, I've seen the mirror motor cause a rotation noise in the 1300/1200 series printers.

My HP laserjet 1200 is making a terrible noise when printing - do you have to oil the rollers?

No Please don't oil any part of the printer, oiling may damage the complete printer first check if the nopise is coming from rear, Top, Front or side.
If noise is coming from Top than possibly top outbin roller are making noise.
If side tham may be toner cartridge or cartridge motor is making.
If noise is coming from rear than either fuser or the gear which rotates the fuser are making noise.
If noise is coming from from than Tray 2 pickup assembly or faulty tray is making noise possibly faulty registration assembly can also mak noise none of the part should be oiled only the faulty part should be replaced.

Too light of print

Blowing out dust is not a good idea. access to the laser optics is open on this machine, and you will only make the problem worse, by blowing dust and toner inside.
Dirty laser optics are the cause of our problem. The only way to solve is remove top cover of machine remove several wire connectors, remove cover of laser unit and clean all mirrors, motor, and reflectors.

Power conversion

Hi,
Dont do any thing with your printer power supply and just purchase Step-Down AC Transformer. Its input will be 220Volts AC and will out 110Volts AC. One thing important, read the printer power consumption watts and get proper one. Got the point buddy?
