SOURCE: Convergence Problems
If you did not use heat sink compound then you probably have not hurt the new IC's yet but you should remove them and add the heat sink compound NOW. If the convergence IC's are bad then you will have access to the convergence menu but the adjustments will have no effect. The fact that you switched the IC's and got the same results shows that the IC's are good. If your red convergence is still way out when the new IC's are installed then the old IC probably burned out the low value resistor associated with the Red Vertical (RV) channel.

Sounds like the green tube is shot, tap on the green board see if theres a loose connection, with something hard plastic

You have a convergence problem. Components are shorted out and must be replaced. Unless you're a technician, there's really nothing you can do at this point.

Usually answered in minutes!
Video is all green and squeezed together on the top half and flickers. I cannot make out what is on the screen though.The audio is fine, this started happenning a couple years ago, but I could correct it by just turning on the split screen, then turning it back off, then the tv was fine. Now the screen is like that all of the time no matter what I do. I've tried everything in the menu, although it is hard to read also.
