E30 means that the control isn't getting an electrical signal from the water pump. A clogged pump, bad pump, loose connection or a bad control board can cause this error code. The first thing you will want to do is check for a loose connection. Then make sure the pump isn't clogged. Check the pump motor with an ohmmeter and if it is open replace it. At this point the only way to tell if the control or the water pump is the problem is to run the water pump test on this page
Test for voltage at the pump during the test. If the pump is getting power but will not run, replace the water pump and if the pump isn't getting power, replace the control.

GE wcvh6400j1ww Front loader washer

It is most likely the water valve that your going to have to replace. its the part inside the machine that the hoses hook up to. But first you should check your machine's error codes to make sure you are going to need to change that part. First make sure the display on the machine is clear. unplug the machine for 30 seconds. when you plug the machine back in then push signal, delay, signal, delay and it should say t01 on the display screen. turn the nob til it gets to t02 and then push the start button it will give you the error codes for your machine.

I found a small part (looks like the top part of a pen) in my washer, now when i turn on the washer the goes in but does not stop, does not start the wash cycle. Also door keeps locking and unlocking.

How to run a diagnostic test:
  1. Unplug power cord, then wait 30 seconds.
  2. After plugging in, follow these instructions...
To Enter SERVICE MODE: Press Signal-Delay-5ignal-Delay (within 30 seconds of plugging in washer).
To Exit SERVICE MODE: Repeat Signal-Delay-Signal-Delay.
