What is the complete model number of your unit?

there should be 2 or 3 springs that hold it, they mite have broke, take off back panel an check.

remove the front panel could be that one of the springs broke easy to fix

There are springs inside the unit that stablize the tub during spin. If the springs are not attached correctly the tub will be off balance. Sometimes the Balance Ring loses it's fluid due to a crack or leak and the washer will spin off balance. THis requires a service tech to dissemble the machine.

You must check tht the wheels are properly installed and lock nuts are tight.
Your washer load is more than likely out of balance or over loaded .
Try moving the clothes around so the weight is balanced .
And remember not to over load the washer with to many articles!

lid switch is broke lever probley broke off or screw holes broke out due to off balance load forcing tub over against switch lever

Whirlpool is still made in USA, I think. Avoid electronic timers and geegaws you don't need.

check to make sure the machine is properly balanced. an off balance machine will vibrate causing that sound.

Sounds like your front to back spring is pulling to tight, sometimes you need to replace it and sometimes you can take it off and stretch it. hope this helps
