We had the male part of the green video output of the xbox 360 HD-AV component break off into the female port for the same on the back of our Vizio HD TV. It is too far up in there to get out with a pair of tweezers. We connected a new component cable and it didn't work so we are wondering if we need to have the broken off prong removed and if it can be done ourselves or if the TV needs to be taken apart in order to have that whole input cap replaced.

Hello
One board takes in the HDMI as well as the other signals. Sometimes part of the board breaks and that is what sounds like has happend in your case. This is a fairly common problem and most people tend to just live with it. Others sell thier tv and a few find the number of thier board to see if one is available on ebay or shopjimmy. If you are comfortable with electronics the board is not hard to replace.
Im sorry your HDMI broke....
I hope this helps

i have same porob with muy tv
I have a panasonic tv that last night I was trying to move w/o disconnecting the cables, and my male component broke off also inside of the female one and it's also way too small to try and get out w/ a pair of tweezers we bought this flat screen from best buy, so I'm trying to give them a call, when or if I find out what to do, if we can get a replacement I'll write back on here and let ya'll know! This sucks! I guess this is what I get for not just disconnecting the simple wires instead you know? Apparently I have to do everything the hard way lol! Take care!
my mom got mad at me and pulled off the prong into the femail prong but not on purpose
im having the same exact problem, and now im out of money for a new tv, so im kinda screwed. mine was a regular av cable though.
actually, i fixed it now. i was the one who posted earlier today. what i did to fix the blue and pink appearance of my tv was to actually to push in the prong a little more. theres no chance that it would come out for me, so i pushed it in a little, and then plugged in the dvd in part of the component into my tv. if that works 4 u, then go and buy a new component cable, but only if u hav more than 1 set of female ports, and plug it in. hope it helps!
