Ice in Refrigerator Section

I accumulate ice in the left rear section behind the produce draw. Also, water drips on the floor in the left front corner under the pull out freezer draw. The ice forms in the refrig and needs to be chopped out with a knife after a few weeks time. This cycle keeps repeating

There are 2 possibilities. first the drain is blocked causing water to overflow from the defrost water gulley at the bottom rear of the inside of the fridge. this can form ice as it is close to the division between fridge and freezer. second, the .fault of ice growth can be caused by breakdown of the cabinet insulation. of the two, the first is the moree likely. to test drain is cloear, pour a little water down the drain. if it does'nt flow freely, push something flexible down the drain hole till blockage is clear

GE side by side refrigerator model no TFG20JAWWW 627 litre is occasionally leaking water

Check the drip tray in the freezer section where defrost water drips from the defrost heater melting frost during the defrost cycle. If ice blocks the drain hole in the tray inside the freezer(usually behind the evaporator cover) the defrost water will travel into the bottom of the freezer & onto your floor. Some models also have a second evaporator in the fresh food section. A blocked drain or clogged defrost drain tube can cause the problem.

My refrigerator has water leaking from the freezer into the main refrigerator compartment. How can I stop that?

Hi,

Ok, you have too sources of water in the freezer section. one from the ice maker if you have one, other is defrost. Either one can cause this, check the drain under the evaporator, most likely the drain is obstructed and the water has no where to exit so it builds up and drains into the lower section (gravity). Te drain can be found under the evaperator behind the false wall in the freezer section. Good Luck

Water on floor in front of freezer section every day or so.

At the back of the freezer is locate the evaporator and below it is a drip pan to collect the water produced during the defrost cycle. Some equipment defrost every 12 hours so that is why you see the ice formation at mornings. You need to flush the drain hose by blowing with compressed air, or suction ut from its end below the outback of the unit. Also you can use a flexible ;plastic rod and carefully pass it thru the hose from the bottom ow the drip pan.

Have an 8yr old Kenmore top freezer. Water is dripping from top of refrigerator section, from back right side of a vent. Have made sure food is not blocking circulation in freezer. Help!

Your freezer has a drain tube located behind the: freezer ice tray back rear plastic cover; It leads to the defrost tray at the bottom of the refrigerator. remove the back rear plastic cover, the drain will be located at the right side of the coils.
flush the tube out using a funnel and, a pan of hot water. empty the floor defrost tray as you do this.

Ice accumulation on the bottom of the freezer

Your drain line is clogged, that is located behind the white wall inside of the freezer. The water comes from defrost cycle, that happens every 8-12 hours. You need to defrost it and snake it.

I have Kenmore frostless 25 with an ice and water dispenser in the door. It does not makes ice, but the water dispenser works fine. I could hear the ice maker switch bar moves up and down in the ice...

Most times it's the water control valve on the rear of refrigerator and near the floor. And you can test the ice maker by filling with water. Let it freeze and if it dumps the ice and does not refill then the water control valve. If the water freezes and nothing happens the the ice maker is the problem. If you had your model number I could tell you part numbers. Anyway try that and let me know your findings. Kenmore uses a model number like 312.54689 for example found on front near floor and behind the fresh food section door. Let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

Accumulation of water in bottom of fridge

You probably need a new door deal for the freezer. When you cet too much condensation in the freezer, it drains down the back of the refrigerator section during the defrost cycle. Check under the produce bins for a drain. If you don't have one, you're not alone. I used to have have to wipe mine out every other day until I finally replaced the seal.

Dispenser

Sounds like a control fault on the microswitch to activate the ice and water line. Access to this is immediately behind the ice dispenser section (just above) on the freezer door. Normal access is two screws located behind the removal drip tray section. Either that or the control board for the ice dispenser as you are not getting water as well. Before taking this section apart though you should hear a buzzing sound when you activate the chilled water, if you do then you may have a water supply problem. Hope this helps.
