I've done everything correctly as per instructions, but the bobbin will not wind. It doesn't turn at all and beeps after a second. It does this twice, first when I press the foot pedal and then when I release it. It has worked properly in the past. Thanks
My singer hasn't wound bobbins for years and I don't care because I use a Side Winder bobbin winder. It's much easier than takining the thread off the machine anyway. Available from Hancock, Jo Ann or even Wal Mart for about $30.

Do you still have the embroidery arm attached? If you do, the sewing function of the machine won't work.

They have a great customer service staff, try calling them at 1-800-4singer. Good luck, hope you get sewing again with your machine. One time my girlfriend found out the beep meant all was good, so hopefully you are going to have a good laugh over the problem, she did.

I have had the same problem with my machine as well. have you tryed, keeping it hooked to your computer while sewing, even if you are not using your embroidery unit it still needs to be hooked up, that seems to have helped some with the beeping.
