Log out of her account by clicking the small gear icon in the upper-right then clicking "Log Out."

You are correct, you cannot go into a chat room because you have a safe account. They gave you an unsafe account for good reasons. Deal with it.

You should use another P.C and if that hasn't helped you as well than I would suggest you to make another account.

Do you have the expressed permission to do this? The intentional breach of a computing system to include web servers, databases, computers etc is strictly forbidden and it is illegal via various acts including the Computer Misuse Act which is embedded into U.S. Code therefore, it is prosecutable in Federal Courts. Is it worth it? If you do, however, have permission to get into this account. You will want to search for HTTP Proxies/Interceptors (hint: FireFox Add On). Monitor the request when you submit "forgot my password" what is the sendto: address?

I had something similar happen to me. It would appear that you have been hacked. Go online and contact Facebook through a new browser and go to the help area. Contact them. Through a painful process of emailing back and forth they will reestablish your account with a new password.

At the top right of the Facebook screen, you will see a triangle next to you mothers account name - click on it and a drop down menu will appear - choose "log out" and you will be able to log back in with your details
