Tv turns on, says please wait, then goes black and nothing happens
I don't recommend Hitachi TVs to anybody. Bought two Black Friday a few years back. One was in the family room that has not been used for quite a while. Every once in awhile the TV would be turned on for about 5 minutes and then turned back off. Now all it's doing is saying please wait. For me to get it to turn on period. I had to do a whole lot of stuff that YouTube told me to do. Now stuck with a blue to black screen with (Please wait...
The firmware to your TV might have corrupted. It should be upgraded.

Could be the signal board has a bad cap, in this case it sounds like you are getting intermitten power to the inverters....when the tv goes down and of course you have audio....Shine a flashlight on to screen and see if you have a picture...look carefully. If this is the case..you have the above problem!

There's a problem with the power board communicating properly with the interface board aka 'main board'. There's seems to be a logic problem here _Data-Bus interference. This could be because of DC voltage shut down or an under-voltage condition on the power supply board. Also the serial data too and from the Timing control board could also cause a similar problem. You can send the power board and interface board too me and I'll repair the problem for you. Or if you have some test equipment I can show you what to test.
Get back too me when you can.
