Distorted pict. w/ wavy circles

I replaced the IC's in the tv and resitors 50, 54 and 58 as I had once about a year ago. Everything was ok but, there was a slight convergence issue on the left side of the screen. I tried to fix it ( stupid me). I was trying to adjust the the convergence manually and some how got stuck in Static mode. I fumbled around a bit trying to get out of it. I now have a green cross hatcht hat is severely distorted at both the top and bottom of the screen. Is there any way that i can rest the TV to the factory defaults? Any comments or suggestions. Please help anyone who can talk me through it, instructions etc... Panasonic projection tv pt-53dx80A a year ago I fix DC board color at tv are

Distorted picture

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs. To get fixed either call in a local TV repair company or goto sites such as Tv Repair Kits to get a repair kit with instructions. Here is there link.

They have put together complete kits for most models that include the parts, step by step photo instructions, repair assistance, etc.

Red wavy red line on top of picture.faces distorted, but bottom part of picture ok

sounds like you have an output power supply going bad.

the tv is crt projection...which is to say due to its age and technology it will probably be cheaper to just get a new tv.

Sometimes these older style sets end up with compenent board solder breaks that can be spotted visually and fixed by a talented repairman.

My friend had this done to a similar 55 inch set he has about 3 years ago....he just won't give his up either!

good luck and be careful! There is lots of high voltage inside that tv!

Toshiba 60HX70 distorted picture, blinking red light

You could have a Power Supply Regulator Problem. Many times these sets will not hold Horizontal sync when there is excessive High Voltage or a problem with the High Voltage Regulation. This is not a problem you want to deal with yourself. I would recommend a Toshiba Repair Facility to come out and diagnose it.
Hope this helps,

Shadows on screen

Try moving a medium powered magnet (not one for picking up heavy objects and not a refrigerator holding one) over the distorted area. If that doesn't work, try a more powerful one. This worked for my Toshiba LCD. Good luck!

Convergence Problem inSamsung HC-P4752W 47" Rear Projection

One of the convergence output IC's has burned out and needs to be replaced. If the IC opens up inside then it stops working without blowing any fuses or resistors. The IC should be replaced and the set realigned by someone with experience in convergence circuits.
