Can't see the other person using skype - Skype IM

When I make a sjype to skype call, the other person can see me, but I can't see them. I only get the small picture of myself and the use full screen option is blurred. Using Skype, the caller can see me but I cannot see the other caller. When the other caller clicked on play video, her screen opens for a second on my computer and then closes down. What is the problem. Even more wierd, when I open my options window I can then see the other uses, but can no longer see myself. Any suggestions? Whenever I am in a video call with someone. They can always see me, but I can never see them. I don't think it is a problem with my logitech camera, because I can see myself in the little box in the corner on the skype window. The screen where I should be seeing the other person, is usually a light blue or gray. It is just blank. How can this be fixed?

When I make a Skype call on my laptop with built-in webcab, I can see myself in a small box and the other caller can see me, but I can't see them. I know that their webcam is working because they also see themselves in video on Skype screen.
