Line going up and down TV when i play ps3?

Hi, I'm new here, I have a 60gb version of the ps3, and last night i was hooking up my new home theater system. anyways, I had to do some re-wiring, my ps3 used to be hooked up to my sony 32" tv (model #: KV-32HS-420) via hdmi cable. Thing is,my tv only has 1 hdmi port, so i had to re-wire my new reciever for my new surround sound system & my ps3, i had to hook up my new reciever via hdmi, then re-wire my ps3 via component cables. I have my ps3 broadcasting in 1080i and 720p, and eversince i rewired my ps3 via component cables i now have a horizontal line wiggling up my tv screen from bottom to top. i know all the wires are tight, i can't seem to find the problem. Somebody please help! it's really annoying. Thanks!

PS: if anybody who read this knows of a digital converter box that supports 5.1 surround sound (in other words, where the audio will come out of all of my new speakers) that would be great. I would prefer it would have a component connection, not hdmi, it should also be able to support HD. THanks again

My TV is a 32 Inch Standard Definition. It does the same thing, only i have an 80 Gig. PS3 and haven't rewired anything. I think it's annoying noticing that line. It doesn't show up while watching tv. ugh

I am having the same problem. It is based on wiring, I believe. Try to get a new wire, should correct it.

  1. Turn off your PS3
  2. Hold down the power button for at least 5 seconds
This reset the video settings to default settings.

I have a Panasonic sc-xh150 DVD home theater soundsystem I need to hook it up with myc ox cable dvr ,ps3 and LG 42 INCH LED TV#42LN5300 I have no remote for the Panasonic and also won't play DVD

This Panny is a pretty sophisticated home theater (HT) system. It will play music from and control an iPod or iPhone up to 5th generation units in addition to DVDs, CDs, FM radio, and other sources like your PS3, cable DVR, etc. Everything you need to know about setting it up and running it is in the user manual. Go to http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SCXH150.PDF to download one for free.

Unfortunately this HT has two issues that will affect your ability to use it. First, like most modern systems, you absolutely need a remote to run it. Only the basic controls appear on the main unit. You can buy a $10 "universal" remote and see if that works -- they're available at Walmart, Staples, Home Depot etc under names like RCA, Philips, and Sony. But quite often they only have buttons for running a unit, not for setting it up. If that's the case you'll need the original Panny remote, which is much more expensive. Go to shop.panasonic.com and poke around to find it.

The second issue is what you want to plug into it. It has very limited inputs. There is no HDMI input at all, and no component video inputs, which means you'll have to run a cable from your DVR directly to the TV if you want Hi-Def video. The same holds true for the PS3. Unless your LG TV is ARC-capable, you'll also have to run a separate audio line back to the HT unit to hear the sound from the DVR, the PS3, or TV programs. Not a huge deal if the LG has enough inputs, but kind of disappointing. Good luck.

Trying to get my ps3, Emerson hd tv and coby DVD938 home theater all to work together

The DVD938 only has analog audio input (2.1 channel), thats why you have only a white (left channel) and red (right channel) audio connection from your ps3 to the home theatre. There is an option called PROLOGIC in the setup menu that will simulate 5.1 with the 2.1, it basically takes the 2.1 channels and splits it into all the speakers.

How can i get my surround sound working for my ps3 i have a philips hts3357 home cinema please help

Hook the ps3 into the tv. Hook the T.V out going to the surround sound system and you should get your game sounds out of your surround sound.

Dvd plays only black and white

check the video input cables for any damage or broken part. check either ur tv or the player for any setting against NTSC, PAL or SECAM. Or try the tv with other player or try the player with other tv.

No sound with ps3, connected to a 7.1 av receiver & projection tv

Hi...the HT-R800 Home Theater system has the HT-R550 receiver which could only carry Video via HDMI. you would need to connect a separate audio cale(Optical Audio Cable) to be able to get audio out of the PS3 to the receiver. Once you have hooked up an Optical Audio Cable you would need to go in the PS3 setup and putin Bitstream and Optical in the Audio Setup menu.

Hooking up a sony playstation 3 with digital optical cable

Here's one solution, if you have an audio output from your tv, you can go from the audio output on your tv to the audio input on your receiver that way anything that is playing on your tv for example, playstation 3, dvd player etc. Anything playing on your tv will have audio on your onkyo home theater system. The other thing I would try if you want to hook ps3 directly to receiver is go to your connection settings on your ps3 menu and change your connection method to digital optical cable.
