I have an LG 42PX5D Plamsa TV. I turned my TV and the following happens: the power on light flashes several times whilst the screen is black. Then the screen goes green with a thin white strip up the top. After this the screen goes black with the same thin white light at the top. After leaving for a period of time, the picture starts, but is discoloured with blue and red pixels.
Can anyone help!? This might be due to the fact I turned the power off at the mains while the TV was stil running... maybe, maybe not?
Hello, seems to be panel trouble, plasma and lcd main panels are not fixable, the color green isnt a good sign or it is a symptom of the panel being bad,
i know its a bad diagnosis but this is true with this color on a panel.
if it is a worth while set and you want to restore it theres few options one is replacement trough your waranty
the another is having the screen replaced by a service center this is to costly and rarely done by them they would advise you to get another set. at a retail price a screen replacement is as much or even more than the tv itself.
finally you may search online listings for a servicable tv same model and exchange the parts .
the third option is the best if your waranty is expired.
good luck hope this helps
happy holidays.
