Error 70 on Brother printers usually means the encoder strip behind the carriage assembly is out of position or very dirty. I would remove the top cover to correct the error and/or you might also find a scrap of paper either on the extreme right or left stopping the carriage from moving properly.

Hi I have Brother dcp 350 printer. I have the error 46 unable to print/clean i cant get the printer back to normal functions. I have change the inks (all) and I am still get the same error message 46....

The messages unable to print, unable to clean, unable 36, error 46 and error 32 are all print head errors.

1. Remove all the ink cartridges from the machine
2. Clean the contacts on the cartridges as well as inside the machine itself with a small amount of warm water or alcohol on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab.

Note: if any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging replace them

3. Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 70 seconds
4. Plug it back it and wait for the insert cartridges message
5. Insert the cartridges and check to see if the problem is still there. If it is it means the print head has failed and in order to fix this the print head inside the printer needs to be replaced. The print head is the part of the printer that puts ink from the cartridges onto the page

Unfortunately this can sometimes cost more to replace then the machine itself.

Printer' LCD: print unable 70. How to repair ir?

The machine has a mechanical

problem.

-OR-

A foreign object such as a clip or
ripped paper is in the machine.

Open the scanner cover and look on the left,

middle and right hand side under the covers for

foreign objects and paper scraps. Then, disconnect the

machine from the power for several minutes and
then reconnect it.

Dear all here i am anil kumar from india i have MFC brother printer DCP-195C but i have facing problem when i print the page the printer show print unable error 70 please solve my problem thanks...

Error 70 normally is a paper jam or something else that is stopping your print head moving correctly.

Open the covers, have a look, and after clearing the jam you must power off and on the machine.

- Dirty encoder strip

- Foreign object, such as a paper clip or ripped piece of paper is stuck in the machine

- Mechanical malfunction

The most common cause of this issue is dirt on the encoder strip.
