Not connecting to vodafone mobile network with samsung galaxy s gt- i9000t

If your wifi has the "easy" button (they use different names) push it while you are trying to connect, that worked for me on my Samsung Galaxy. It's a button - usually front or top - that when you push it, it connects with the device you're trying to connect with, just saves having to input the password.

You have to re-connect wifi network within the phone. Go to system settings -> wifi -> choose your new SSID and type in passphrase.

Do check the manual settings.Internet connection can be done through Wifi or mobile data.If you are trying through Wifi..switch ON the Wifi in your Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and it will automatically detect the nearby WiFi devices..select the one that you desire and provide the necessary password authentication if required..you will be directly connected to the internet.

If you choose mobile data...try to get a 3G or 4G speed sim since it is faster..and do the respective settings if any, by contacting your network provider.You will be connected to the internet.

It's important to understand how you can have data connection to your phone so as to access internet e.t.c.

Basics:
1. Access through the Network:
Mobile Providers (Vodafone, e.t.c.) provide data access to the users on request (or by default in some cases). This data access is through the NETWORK of the mobile operator and uses 2G, 3G, GPRS, EDGE protocols to access the network.
2. Access through WiFi or WAN:
A smartphone can access internet using the WiFi or WAN protocol (wireless lan). In order to connect to the WiFi network you need capability from your phone and also to find an Access Point of Wifi (AP) to connect to. WiFi networks are FREE or PAID. You can find free networks usually in central squares, caffee's e.t.c. Also, some providers (Vodafone, e.t.c.) provide WiFi APs and you can use prepaid cards or fixed contracts in order to access them.

Unfortunately your phone DOES NOT support the WiFi protocol, so you can only access internet through the 1st option.
In order to do that, we need that your operator allows the DATA traffic for you and we also need to setup your phone in order to accept/send DATA.

How to do it.
1. Mobile operator settings: Pls call your mobile operator and ask them if your number has DATA allowed (DATA plan, or DATA connectivity). If so, you are OK. If not, pls check the price rates (per MB or per usage time) and -if it's within your budget- ask them to activate DATA to your phone.
2. Phone settings: Your phone has the following symbols that indicate Data connection:
GPRS signal
EDGE signal
In order to setup the Data connection there are the following configuration options in your phone:
1. Menu -> Setup Wizard. Setup wizard can setup your phone for various tasks. Try it.
2. Menu -> Browser Settings. You can select the connection profile to be used for DATA.
take into account that in order to setup a DATA connection you need to setup the AP of the GPRS/EDGE as well (usually something like internet.vodafone.com)

...BUT the easiest solution your you is to call your provider, give your number and phone model/type and ask them to send you an automated message that has all the needed settings for your phone so as to have access to DATA.

You click on the message send and all needed settings are OK.
You can now access internet!

Steps for GPRS settings on Samsung Galaxy Pop
*Go to settings
* Go to Wireless and networks
* Go to Mobile networks
* Go to Check Use packet data
* Go to Access point names
* For BSNL -APN "bsnlnet"
* Now go back to settings
* touch Internet and it will run.

Now steps to use Samsung Galaxy Pop as modem and running internet through PC
* connect the mobile to PC via USB cable
*Go to settings
* Go to Wireless and networks
* Go to Mobile networks
* Go to Check Use packet data
* Go toThethering and portable hotspot
* chech USB tethering
*Now in PC, go to Control Panel-> Network and Internet connections -> Network connections
* Here you will see samsung modem. (Kies software to be installed before it)
* Right click on that connection -> properties-> Check on "Show icon in notification Area when connected."
* Now you are connected to internet via mobile and you can see the connected icon.

Before we proceed, may i ask if you are able to connect to the Wireless Network or WLAN? if Yes, all you have to do is to turn off the Packet Data Connection of your handset for it to automatically use the WiFi connection of your handset. To do that just go Setting > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Networks > and Disable Use Packet Data.

That's it!

In menu, select wifi Select the circle in the centre to enable wifi Select Search. It will show list of WIFI networks. Select your wifi network. If it asks for passkey, enter the passkey of your wifi network.
You will be connected to wifi network.

Now Select "Add a new modem connection"

Connection name::"Give any name"
Moden:: select "Cellular line (gprs)"
Select "Next"
Access point name:: "portalnmms"
select "Next"
Username:: (blank)
Password:: (blank)
Domain:: (blank)
Select "Finish"

Now Select "Setup/Edit my proxy server" below that "Add a new modem connection"

Select the two check boxes
1.) This network connects to the internet
2.) This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet

Now you ll have proxy server box below that you will have "advanced"
Select "advanced"
Select "HTTP" --->> Server:: "10.10.1.100" port:: "9401" select "ok"
Select "Wap" ---->> Server:: "10.10.1.100" port:: "9201" select "ok"
Give ok to all options.

Now select "start" select "internet explorer" and try it for the connection...
When internet is connecting it ll show "Connecting to GPRS"
You ll be getting "locating" and "opening" and the webpage
