The mixing valve needs to be replaced. It should be under $50 and is easy to do.

Replace the "tub damping straps" on the unit. Here are the parts to order and the is a video on that same page to show you how to access it. I think there are 4 straps on that unit.

The washer tub bearing may be defective, but that is the only thing that I can think of. Are you noticing this on all loads or just heavy items like bath towels and jeans? Are you redistributing the clothes before the final spin, try that. Also do not overload the washer, wash to medium loads instead of one full to the top load. Wastes water but saves on repairs.

I have a Maytag LA 211 washer and during the spin cycle it vibrates excessively. I tested the spin cycle without clothes and water and it still vibrates excessively. how can this problem be fixed? Ron

Hello,

To fix this problem you will need to replace the damper pads, this will require several hours of your time, you can read several articles on how to complete this repair yourself at the link below, let me know,

At first it did not spin well, the clothes were soaking wet but there was no water in the tub. I would have to run it thru two spin cycles. Now when it gets to the spin cycle it will not spin.

It sounds like the belt is slipping & the damping straps are not securing the movement. The top tub cover should have 4 short rubber straps securing the basket to the cabinet. This prevents the tub from hitting the cabinet while the washer is spinning. I would recommend having the damper straps & the belt checked. Other possibilities would be the transmission or the brakes hanging up.

My washing machine tub is like it is off track

One of your suspension rods is broken. Or one of your bungy straps(WH1X2727) is gone. This video shows how to get into the machine:

After taking off the front cover, look up at the top of the tub just under the lid. there should be a thick rubber strap at each corner of the machine tying in the tub to the top. These are called dampening straps. One or more may be broken. I usually replace all four if I do one.

My washer leaks from the bottom

I figure that you have a busted outer tub. These are bad about getting out of balance after the black straps break that hold the tub. Once they have broken, the tub hits the cabinet and bust the outer tub. The machine has a ******** all four sides. Pull the tub to one side using the agitator. Feel around the gap you made when you pull. You will find a black strap and I bet all four will be broken. They had so much trouble with this, they made a part to repair the tub. It's called a Slap Stick. Make sure the break in the tub is not over 12" long and 1" wide. If it is, the Slap stick will not work, you will have to replace the tub. Also, be sure to replace the four straps so that you can avoid this problem again in the near future. You can find a Slap Stick at you local appliance parts house.

I have an atlantis serial # 16100596av the washer shakes and vibrates sometimes excessively on the rinse as well as the spin cycle. i hope this is an aesy solution!!

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

IF THIS IS A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION - be sure you have removed the basket shipping pins (4) that secure the tub during shipping.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.
