Had a power surge, now when I plug it up nothing happens, all caps look fine, please help
That problem is usually have 2 causes..Its either power supply board or main board..
Please take this steps on how to determine the problem:
1. Open the back cover.
2. Check the power supply output...It should have 5vdc for the main board..12vdc or 16vdc for the audio and 24vdc for the back-light inverter..
3. If those 3 voltage supplies have encountered voltage drop...The problem could be on power supply board..
4. If the power supply output is normal..The problem could be on the main board...
5. If the problem is power supply you should check if the capacitors are bulged on the top and try to replaced it..If you can't do that you can purchased new power supply board..
6. If the problem is on main board there is no D.I.Y repair on that so you need to buy a new main board that fits to your TV..
Hope this solution will be helpful..
Thanks for using fixya...
Found out what the problem was, I was getting power to half the board, both transformers where bad when I tested them, so basically it wasn't letting tne power bridge over. Now the only problem is finding the dang parts, i don't even know what the part number is, it's just a bunch of numbers, no voltage value or anything....
Which transformers are you looking for? I have an extra power supply board that I bought thinking mine was bad but I narrowed it down to the main board. When I heat the main board up with a hair dryer, the TV works until it cools down again!
Can anyone out there tell me what to fix on the main board? I can do surface mount and hole through soldering but I'd like to know if it's the caps, the solder bump chips or something else. Please point me in the right direction if you know what causes this problem. Thanks, Dave

This is known as SLEEP MODE problem.
Simple solutions:
1. Get a power surge protector / strip.
2. Plug your TV power cord to the power surge.
3.Then turn-on your TV using the remote control. Just in case it won't go all the way to normal state.
4. Turn-off the switch of your power surge like 5 times with an interval of 3-5 seconds.
5. Then repeat step 3 and 4.
6. These step is done to over-ride the sleep mode.

Hi there,
After contacting Westinghouse directly they told me to plug the set directly into the wall socket and that should fix the problem. I tried and same thing happened on Powersaver mode but on normal mode same problem didn't occur. So I guess I won't be saving $20 to $30 dollars a year on Powersaver mode! Still love the set.
SOURCE: what is the weight of
I found 2 different sources online that list the weight as either 61.1 lbs or 68.1 lbs. I think the 61.1 is more accurate for the bare TV without the stand or anything attached. But keep in mind that when mounting a flat panel TV to a wall, you should secure it with hardware rated for much higher weight tolerances. Many mounting brackets for TVs of this size are rated for 150 - 200 lbs, and for good reason. Consider a situation where someone trips and catches his balance on the wall-mounted TV. The TV is already putting 61 lbs of pressure on the bracket, so any force from any other contact is added to that. It doesn't take much to add up to 100 lbs or more. If the mount breaks free from the wall, you'll have damage to the TV, the wall, the mount, and any furniture or flooring beneath the TV, so the best advice is to mount it as if it weighed about 150 lbs. The 7 lbs +/- difference in reported weights won't matter at all.
