Ok so my hubby got me an asus eee pc 900 for christmans and he just had to play with it beforehand and he said it works great and connects to wifi hotspats perfectly but at home it connects but won't bring up any webpages. i do know a little about computers and i can't figure out whats wrong. the signal strength is 100% or around there. i don't have access to the router cuz we live in an rv/ trailer park so. but the other computers in my house work perfectly fine even the other laptop... so what can it be???

this connection dosen't have an encryption key. the other one need one but i don't know it so i can't connect to it. and on an asus with linux how do you check to see if your connected to the wireless connection or not
ok and so i do have an ip address and it is connected hince the ip address. i have no clue to whats wrong. and neither does my dad
I also have a ASUS eee PC 900 running Windows XP. I got it for my boyfriend a few weeks before Christmas, and it worked great. We have a secure network with an imac that runs both OSX and XP and a Sony Vaio laptop that all still work fine on it. The eee 900 worked fine for a couple weeks on any network we connected it to. He shut it off on Christmas night and it would not load the webpage the next morning. It is still connecting to our network and retained the network key, but it either says "this page cannot be displayed" or " server not found". My brother says the problem is that it is sending out the normal amount of "packets" but it's only receiving a few. If you right click over the wireless network connection icon and click Status, it will show the amount of packets (our says sent 1,196 & received 2). Not entirely sure what would cause this or what would fix it, but hopefully it will help.
i don't have a default gateway and how do you get a default gateway
my eee pc says that it is connected to my router, but webpages dont come up. When i left it ages it says that the connection has timed out. The internet works perfectly at school so why doesnt it when im at home?
