Hello Bassett,

If there is no problem in your Kindle then you have to contact the local cellular operator.

They will solve the 3G connectivity problem you are facing.

I need to de register my kindle because I lost it in traveling.

This is from M. Francis Professor of Kindology on Amazons customer service forum

Standard advice for lost/stolen Kindles:

You want to deregister your device first and foremost to prevent someone from purchasing items with your account.

Immediately go to your 'Manage Your Kindle' page:
http://amazon.com/manageyourkindle

Scroll down the left-side menu and select 'Manage Your Devices'
Find the Kindle that is lost/stolen.
**BE SURE TO WRITE DOWN THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE DEVICE, FOR FUTURE REFERENCE**
Then click 'Deregister'

** You will need that serial number when you contact Customer Support, and to identify your device from a Lost & Found, and also it will be needed if you file a police report or file an insurance claim to your homeowners or rental insurance policy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then, contact Customer Service and report the loss/theft. Amazon cannot help you locate your Kindle, but they will use the serial number to block the device from being registered in the future by someone else. Do this soon, because if the person who might now have your Kindle already registered it to their own Amazon account, it cannot be blocked from registering at your request any longer.

If you find your Kindle later, contact Customer Service again to reverse the process. To contact CS, click the orange 'Contact Us' button on the right side of this page, or use this link:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/kindle-help.html

Don't use the email option, but use the Phone option (if available from your location) or Chat option. By using the Phone option, after you send your phone number in, an Amazon Representative will call you back in a minute or two, sometimes sooner.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have Active Subscriptions:
You will also want to make sure that you cancel any active subscriptions. Canceling the subscription will ensure that you are no longer billed; you'll also receive a pro-rated refund for remaining issues you already paid for. You always have the option of subscribing at a later date.

Go to your 'Manage Your Kindle' page:
http://amazon.com/manageyourkindle

Then, scroll down the left-side menu and select 'Subscription Settings'
For each subscription you have, use the 'Actions' button to the right of the title and select 'Cancel Subscription'.

How do I delist a kindle that I purchased as a gift for my daugter? Al Willinger [email protected]

When you register your Kindle, you'll be able to purchase and download content easily. You can register or deregister your Kindle on your computer through the Manage Your Kindle page, or right from your device.
Note: If you have a Wi-Fi only device, you will need to set up your Wi-Fi connection in order to register from your device.

To register or deregister your Kindle from your device:
  1. Move the 5-way controller down until "Settings" is underlined and press to select.
  2. Press the 5-way controller to select "register" or "deregister" from the Settings screen. If you don't have an Amazon.com account, you will be prompted to create one.
  3. When you register your Kindle, enter your Amazon.com user name and password (the e-mail address and password associated with your Amazon account) using the keyboard.
  4. Move the 5-way controller to select "OK."
Tip: If your Amazon user name or password contains characters or numbers not present on the Kindle keyboard, press the Symbol key to see a menu of additional characters.
Registering if You Don't Have an Amazon.com Account If you don't already have an Amazon.com account, you can create one at www.amazon.com. Here's how:
  1. On the sign-in screen, enter the e-mail address you want to use for your Amazon.com account. This e-mail address will be the one we use to send you updates about your orders.
  2. Don't enter a password. Check the button next to "No, I am a new customer" and then click the Sign in using our secure server button to continue.
  3. Enter your name and verify your e-mail address on the Registration screen.
  4. Enter a password for your new account and click the Continue button. We'll ask you to enter the same password twice to make sure it is correct. (You might also want to write your login informaiton so you'll have it later.)
  5. Visit the Manage Your Kindle page. Enter the serial number for your Kindle and click the Register a new Kindle button. You'll find Kindle's serial number on the outside of the box or on the Settings menu on your Kindle.
If you're unable to locate Kindle's serial number, don't worry. You've successfully created an Amazon.com account and can now register your Kindle wirelessly following the Registering Your Kindle instructions above.
