Connect a lead via your tv video out audio out jacks. Select tha appropriate channel (You may have to go through the av channel on you tv and tune in the channel you want to record) or, video or dvd player audio out video out jacks. connect other end to your camcorder. Select on the camcorder menu video in audio in. Turn on tv. If connected to video or dvd player, press play. Press record on your camera. When finished recording press stop. Presuming the camcorder is tape, you can buy a tape adaptor to play or record your mini tapes in a standard video recorder, then take them out of the adaptor and play them back on your camcorder. You can also do all this via a computer. Also if the camcorder is disk or hard drive it can be used the same way as a regular dvd recorder to record tv programmes once connected to you t.v. Let me know how you go 26 red

I have a Panasonic PV-V4525S VCR and I'm trying to program it to work with the Comcast cable. Right now it will only record the same channel that the TV is on and I have to tell the VCR to record channel...

If your using digital cable it will only record channel 3 or 4 depending on what your cable box is set to...In order for it to record different channels it needs a cable source plugged directly into it. You will only be able to record standard cable channels 1-125. If it's digital cable forget about... you can only record it with channel 3/4 a solution to this would be using a 2nd digital box.. "auto-programming" may be limited even with a 2nd cable box. If your only using standard cable 1-125... you can use the TV/VCR button it will switch between the tuner of the TV & VCR allowing you to record while you watch a different show... keep in mind this won't work for digital channels which if I'm not mistaken comcast has already converted all channels to digital even basic.

VCR will not record (PV-V4624S)

SET YOUR TO RF LEVEL " LOW" OR YOUR CABLE CONNECTION IS WRONG CHECK IT.IF THE PROBLEM REMAINS, CHECK IT ON STANDARD DEFINITION TV FOR RECORDING.IF THE PROGRAM RECORDS OK THEN IT ID NOT COMPITIBLE FOR DIGITAL SIGNALS. BUT IF NO RECORDINGS PERFORM CHECK THE VIDEO HEAD CLOGGINGS OR MAY BE MAIN "IC" PROBLEM.

Built-in microphone does seem to work

The only way to really tell if the buit in mic. is bad is to replace the mic or plug another one in the external mic. jack. Also use the input (red and white) RCA jacks and input a signal from a stereo or TV into it and record. If still no sound then its probably Bad capacitors in the sound processor Printed Circuit board. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but mostly all of older camcorders suffer from this breakdown fault. Good luck
